Its also reasonably evident that the shooter is going to be the son of the woman in the ER.

ETA: I will also not be surprised when the guy who punched Dana, comes into the ER as a heart attack patient and they have to save him.

I’m not ashamed to say that I almost broke down when that newborn took its first breath.

I was VERY tense at the thought of watching another child die in the ER. I gasped and said ‘Oh shite!’ When that baby started crying.

I don’t think so. Langdon is in such shock and panic mode trying to call Robby to get him on the phone to beg and plead for his job back .

Not sure he’d have the mental break time to decide to get a gun/go to the festival and start blasting . Seems like that all
Happens way too fast for it to be Langdon

Langdon had only left the hospital within an hour of them getting the emergency call.

I'm confused at the convo between robby and Tina turner outside.

Was she implying he knocked her up and she aborted it?

Reddit seems to think so. That It was their way of talking through it without actually talking about it

But the timeline is like Collin’s and Robby dated when she was a first year resident ? And he was an attending.. talk about a no no . I could be wrong about their relationship timeline however

And all of this is happening within the span of a few hours. I have to keep reminding myself of this.

As others have said it’s completely realistic.

My brother is the director of emergency medicine in west Texas hospital. But he’s worked in El Paso, Dallas, and Chicago. The realism of this show is very high when I’ve discussed it with him.

One of his buddies was a consultant on this season.

Langdon is going to save Robbie’s brother or the girlfriend

Whatever awards they give out, Bryan Cranston's daughter deserves them all. Dr King is my favorite character.

She's the John Carter of The Pitt.

Even with John Carter himself working there.

I got the feeling something like this happened in the first episode. Just the way the 2 acted with each other, you could tell there was a history.

Holy shite! I don't think I've ever seen a tv show have a clear close-up of child birth in progress. Dr. King. I see hair!...umm baby hair.

And of course the baby has 2 dads.

The shooter will no doubt be the kid who basically had a hit list. one or more of his targets were probably at the event.

This is Dr. King in 2018?

Watched the first episode. It's good enough to give it a chance, but it's not hooking us very well.

Context on us - We lived in Pittsburgh between 2015 and 2019 when my wife went to medical school before we moved to Chicago. My old office in the PPG building is in the background quite often, and I generally look back fondly on those years even though it was an incredibly busy time for us. Looking forward to seeing the Pittsburgh setting as a character.

My wife did her 2nd and 3rd year rotations in Pittsburgh and many at Allegheny General Hospital where a lot of the exterior shots were. She did a lot of work in the ER there and in several other big hospitals in the area (West Penn, most of the UPMC hospitals, Forbes, etc.). She lived that life and we still couldn't quite identify with most of the characters.

This might just be because we are older and it's usually 8:30 or 9:00pm before we have time to watch any TV anymore - by then we are exhausted. But so far I think it's a solid show, but it likely won't make the case for me to extend my MAX subscription beyond April when it expires.

I usually don't let politics drive my entertainment consumption, but holy shite Grey's has become unwatchable. My wife still watches and the bits and pieces I see/hear are so woke its cringeworthy.

You are 100% correct about Grey's. And I'm honestly surprised it's still on and has an audience large enough to keep it running.

So far The Pitt has far, far more diversity in casting than comparatively white Pittsburgh does (at least how I remember it from living there). That part feels unnecessarily forced. Other than that, by the end of the first episode I didn't think it the wokeness was so obvious that it slaps you in the face. Haven't seen Episode 2 yet.

Without reading the rest of the thread....I'm hoping that it doesn't turn into a more woke version of past hospital shows.

even my wife gave up after awhile. There was one episode where a black doctor's husband got pulled over on the Pacific highway that i think broke her.

sorry for the tiktok link but here it is. Just laughably bad
