when the teacher was talking about how the lunar missions were fake and were designed to the bankrupt the Soviet Union, some HS chick behind me said "wait is that true?" to the person next to her

Wait, what about Yankees?

really really glad none of the robots went rogue like what often happens in these types of movies

It was kinda weird that Cooper referenced their ability to go rogue, but it didn't come up at all. They were actually way more reliable than any of the humans.

Were they walking on flat square pads of metal, or were there secret Vibram soles on the bottom?

Wow. Where to start?. . .
First, for anyone planning to see Interstellar, see it in the largest format possible! The visuals were breathtaking and should be experienced in all their glory. There were some very moving moments in the movie - I had chills and tears at various intervals - but there were also some moments I feel were meant to be moving but were not. The characters' emotions weren't always that convincing to me.
Nolan aimed for an epic scale and certainly achieved it. It is long, but it's not overlong. Visuals in space get an A+. I feel like the plot could've used some whittling down / fine-tuning; it was too jumpy IMO. Some of the dialogue was a little hokey/unconvincing. As far as I could tell (and I'm no expert), all the science seemed accurate and understandable for general audiences. Almost everything made sense to me, except for one major question that's left unanswered (I'll save it for later so as not to spoil anything).
Acting was good by all; no one stood out as exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. I actually found the score a little disappointing. That's probably because Zimmer sets the bar so high for himself. It wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't his best work either.
Overall, a very solid movie, and definitely worth seeing in IMAX at least once, but it's not a masterpiece IMO. It didn't blow me away like, say, Inception.
7.5/10
I agree with most of this.

I was impressed that the robots were so aesthetically not pleasing. A Tetris block that could talk....BRILLIANT!!!

I thought that was great actually.

They had a few funny comments between Coop and TARS early on
Brand - "He doesn't know the docking procedure for the Endurance.
Cooper - "Yeah, but the autopilot does."
CASE - "Not since TARS disabled it."
Cooper - "Nice...TARS, what's your trust setting?"
TARS - "Lower than yours, apparently."

The design of the robots was by far my favorite deviation from the original script (where they were simply androids).
I thought TARS and CASE were incredibly unique and interesting in both their aesthetic designs and dialogue.

It did make Damon's story about his robot derping himself to death somewhat believable.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but I liked the TARS & CASE design. It was a nice mixture of advanced technology and ruggedness. When it went after Hathaway's character on the water planet I thought that was a great subtle showcase of how bad arse they really were.

Not sarcastic at all. I liked that design much more than the typical human AI form that we see in most movies.
