Definitely. The two best directors didn't get nominated this year. If Affleck or Tarantino were nominated, I don't think Lee would be walking away with the award.

Honestly, with his competition (ie: Affleck and Tarantino not being nominated), I actually agree that he was the best director in those that were nominated. Life of Pi was great and impeccably directed. Lee deserved this win compared with his competition
