Actually…it did just the opposite. It gave them the name of the courier that led them to Bin Laden.

Ang Lee's not my favorite director, but he sure does make pretty movies. I'm glad they gave the ward to an actual artist and not some technician this year. Director is usually the biggest travesty of the night.

Good for Lee.

But Lee already has an Oscar. Why give him another one? It reminds me of Hilary Swank winning a second Oscar for Million Dollar Baby. I don't have a problem with either person winning an Oscar. But two Oscars? Really? I don't understand it at all.

I haven't seen Zd30 so I can't really comment on it, but the CIA itself has said that torture has not resulted in any reliable intelligence, so if the movie says that... it is wrong. It's not being a "pussy" to be against torture and to believe deeply in America's moral leadership. In fact, that's pretty damn conservative. Or was.

Anyway, from people who I know who have seen the film, they claim its a bit more complex than that, which is good. I do think the argument that the movie is pro-torture is rather simplistic and kinda silly since before the movie came out, it was conservatives who were pissed about it because the movie wasn't "heroic" enough.

So, if it pissed off both political groups, it can't be all bad.

Really good movie......

Credit to Ang Lee for making a movie about a guy trapped on a boat with a tiger interesting. Maybe that does deserve "best director"

With that said...

If Argo wins Best Picture....

Might be a movie people cant believe won over Django, ZD30, etc. years from now.
