But she did leave him because of Jim though. And she also cheated on him with Jim (kissing him on Casino Night). Roy sucked, but his blowup in the bar where he was throwing shite was directly due to her telling him that she had kissed Jim.

It doesn't make it okay, but it's not like Roy just got all pissed off for no reason.

Sounds like a normal employee to me.

none of that equals "Jim stole Roy's wife/gf/fiancee"

I disagree, at least partially. He confessed his love, she obviously had feelings too, and eventually left Roy because of that. Sure, Jim had left and was dating Karen when he came back, but Pam/Roy broke up because of Jim and Pam/Jim ended up together. So at worst, he indirectly caused them to break up and ended up with her, whom he was in love with all along (even while he was with Karen).

I get what you're saying, but I don't think it's completely out of line to say "Jim stole Pam from Roy."

Pam kind of had a shitty personality from the beginning.

Yet Jim was 100% okay when Pam left for Art School, or Michael Scott Paper Company. Pam turned out to be very terrible and was very unfair to Jim

I did like it when in I believe it was the last or 2nd to last episode of the series, where they are all on the PBS panel getting questions from the audience, and everyone in the audience keeps asking Pam how could she not trust Jim and how badly she had treated him. I always viewed that has the people in the audience representing us the viewers, and Pam representing the writers that created that storyline for Pam. I mean, it might not have been the intention of the writers, but that is how I always view it.

I think that's true, and I remember we talked about that in the threads back then. It definitely seemed like the writers admitting that a lot of the stuff with Pam was bullshite and it was their way of explaining/apologizing for it.

I was already sick of Pam by the engagement and I wanted her to fall off the boat at Niagara Falls

I’ll be honest. Most of the episodes post-Michael Scott are nearly unwatchable for me.

The Nellie character is terrible. Andy is cringeworthy. Jim as a co-manager was meh as well.

I just do not enjoy anything where Michael is not involved.

This is more of a common opinion than uncommon. Post-michael office is an absolute shitsandwich compared ot the real office for most of hte reasons you said. They tried to bring in a revolving door of new bosses idris elba, will ferrell, spader, bates, most all of them sucked pretty hard. Darrell somehow goes from warehouse worker to suit and tie wearing office worker. Revolving door of bosses jim/andy/dwight. Andy is a fricking loser. Jim and pam are awful. Nellie is worthless. Brian lollll what an awful storyline. The big "will they won't they" triangle with andy/erin/gabe..I'm so intrigued! NOT.

Did Jim really care?

Jim is obsessed with being a child (pranks), being a douche a lot (how he makes fun of everyone else), has an inflated ego and steals the wife of a guy who works in the warehouse.

He absolutely didn't steal the wife of a guy who works in the warehouse. Ridiculous. Pam was unhappy with Roy and they were not married. Terminally engaged.

Jim is relatable because he is the guy that could be great. He's got personality, knows how to act, etc. Instead, he does just barely enough to get by and keep his awful paper sales job.

I have worked with a lot more Jims than Stanleys. Stanleys make work miserable. Jims make it fun. Most offices have tons of folks that make fun of everything. How boring without that.

It is completely out of line. This sounds like Pam had no choice in the matter. Roy was the one who was a constant douche to Pam. He never cared about what she wanted the tiniest bit. Leaving Roy and eventually marrying Jim was PAM's choice. Nobody forced her to do anything, especially not either Jim or Roy. So she should continue to be miserable with Roy? Nope!

I thought Spader as Robert California was pretty funny. The rest pretty much sucked. Ferrell totally sucked.

I'm all on board with the Pam hate, but these arent the same for one huge reason, kids. It took me having kids of my own to realize. It was easy for Jim to support her in those endeavors because it didn't really impact him. I know he didn't see her as much with art school and they may have taken a financial hit with MSPC, but it's just not the same. Pam should've handled it better, though.

I watched that episode last night, Nellie has a really good line when talking about the paper airplane competition:

quote:

We are now down to an elite eight. Well, an elite seven and Toby.

And I realized that the actor who plays Brian also played Russ Hanneman in Silicon Valley.

Pretty much, but throw Jim in there as well. Their whole story arc would have been better just leaving them as the flirty couple in the office.
