If anybody cares, Indy extended showtimes into mid-September for 70mm IMAX.

Thanks for the heads up. Had some friends trying to get tickets and they also extended the showings in Chicago too. If they keep selling, it could be in 70mm until Dune 3.

Dude is the biggest liar on the board but calls everyone else liars. Really and I've said this before. This is all a troll. This is a game he's playing for his personal entertainment.

Watched this last night, and while the casting didn’t bother me nearly as much as I thought it would, I just didn’t really dig it overall. In fact the first 2/3rds of the movie I didn’t enjoy, the final third sort of saved it for me.

Ultimately it’s comfortably a 5 or 6/10, and easily in the bottom half of his movies for me. Can’t imagine rewatching it, and I think his only other ones I haven’t rewatched are Oppenheimer & TDKR.

Saw it last night, enjoyed it enough. I thought the score had potential to be more memorable but overall solid. It’s a long movie

Yep, it’s a long, mid movie.

This movie is the biggest piece of shite ever relative to the hype and people giving it 10/10 and saying it's the best movie ever need a fricking lobotomy.

At best a 6.5/10 just on visuals and practical sets. The script, acting, and pacing were horrible. The third act felt like an eternity. Just a discombobulated mess.

I was still put off by "Elliot" page being in it.
Everyone was.

Fortunately she was briefly on screen

As an aside, I am blown away reading responses in this thread that seem deeply upset that anyone could like the film.

It isn't The Birth of a Nation. . .or worse, Monkeybone. The existence of enjoyment shouldn't be so offensive.

Also annoying are the "It made money, suck it chuds!" crew.

we need much less of both

You can like what you will. Aside from everything I mentioned in my previous post, I also didn't care for leaving the theater feeling like I got earfricked by an F-16 for 3 hours.

This is the longest thread I've ever read with so few actual reviews of the movie. Saw it today, here's my take.

Overall it was pretty good.
Lots of potential and beautifully shot, amazing cinematography
The casting was distracting at first with Page, Holland, and Leguizamo
Page was incredibly miscast and distracting
Zendaya was pointless and her inclusion bothered me, just useless
I liked Hathway and Pattinson acting, also the Indian first crew mate guy. Damon was meh but improved as time went on. Wasn't a fan of Holland.
Sometimes it couldn't decide if the dialogue wanted to be classic or modern and it threw me off at times.

The soundtrack was a bunch of noise and terribly distracting during some key plot points, I'd say a stinker
The worst part of the movie was the aggravating guy banging the staff at the beginning and middle, just unnecessary

It got kind of preachy at the end like some anti-colonialism propaganda even though this is from a time where it was kill or be killed, conquer or be conquered, so that was just an odd landing and final message but at least it was delivered well

I didn't feel as some big anti colonialism stance more to do with Odsyeus regretting the choices he made during and after the war. He broke Zesus' law by engaging in a massacre through what was supposed to be a peace offering. Lots of women and children died as well all of which Odsyeus seemed to have no problem with. He arrogantly thought he could find a way home faster than anyone else and attacked Polyphemns even after him and his men had escaped the cave.

Argos deserved better. It was a decent movie, not something I’d choose to sit through again though.

I mean, it can really just be boiled down to being a mid, overhyped, moving painting. There wasn't anything from the movie itself worth discussing aside from the visuals and what went wrong.

I applaud the studio for realizing the flaws of the movie and getting out in front of it with a nonstop PR push to boost presales and early hype.

They really missed a hilarious line when menalaus quipped that the face that launched 1000 ships is now more like the face that launched 500…. Should have said 600 for the jokes.
