bruh, how can you think that was a blah episode.
So much happened, and I'm here for all of it. Bo gonna get the Mythosaur next week and take down Moff.
Thrawn mentioning? He's definitely showing up at the end of the next episode.
RIP Paz, he went out like a boss. Those Praetorian Guards are so bad arse.
The Finale is gonna be wild.

Not just Thrawn, but a Gilad Pellaeon appearance as well. Filoni has such respect for the lore, canon or not.

Thrawn
Thrawn is an Imperial officer, that was trained by the Empire and was a puppet of Emperor Palpatine.
He was found on an outer rim planet, and quickly rose through the ranks to lead his own fleet.

Ok so when do we meet him?
Where’s he been? Why do people not know if he’s alive or not

You really need to watch Rebels. That’s where we meet him in canon. It explains why he is so bad and why he has been gone.

It's cool that Pellaeon was in the episode. And Thrawn is my favorite Star Wars bad guy. But I see that we're headed to Sequel Trilogy lore here. I doubt I'm gonna be too invested going forward.
I get the reasons. They have a massive investment in the theme park that they stupidly based around the Sequels. If they can drum up some interest in this more sequel-centric storyline, then maybe they can incorporate some of this stuff into the existing park. Maybe they can tie the newer movies into this lore. It's an attempt to save the IP from failing.
But ironically, those reasons are exactly why it feels so empty now. It's written for business decisions rather than artistic ones.
I don't know if it's because of my age (42) and I've just become an old cynical bastard, or if it has actually happened, but it seems like if you are an adult now, you have witnessed the death of art. Corporations have swallowed up everything we once loved and regurgitated it back as an echo of what it once was, but with profit as the sole motivator.
I don't think this was the vibe in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, even the 90s. Someone older, tell me if I'm just a whiny baby because they changed my Star Wars into something that doesn't appeal specifically to me.

That was a cool cameo too. That’s General Hux’s father and he was played by Domhnall Gleeson’s brother.

He will pop up, but won't play a big role. He is being saved for the Ahsoka series.

The show is starting to have the same problem the sequels did. You have a legitimate superhero out there, Luke Skywalker, who just took down Gideon and rescued the Mandalorians last season. If real empire remnants were gathering like this, he’d be on it. No way Ashoka would be out there looking for Thrawn and tracking it down in her own.

Agreed. The damage the sequels did to the entire franchise is pretty much impossible to overcome at this point.

It's worth reading Heir to the Empire. I don't bitch about diversity crap that much but one thing I have said is that it took away from what the empire was originally representing. Lucs based them off the nazis and now they let anyone in. They are supposed to be racist, xenophobic, etc. It is why you don't see aliens serving often and it was a big part of Thrawn's background. He was that good at what he did the Empire even let him in.
