I don’t think this is related to Snoke, but it could just be similar experiments. The Snoke stuff originates from Exogol and the Sith.

Gideon is clearly running some kind of Force related experiments. But the doctor mentions “volunteers” and this indicates, to me, they are trying to transfer a strong connection in the force between beings. Not just clone some. These are mutated genetic experiments.

I really enjoyed this last episode - and the lesson we all gained is this - if baby Yoda asks for a Macaroon, you give him one.

Apparently next weeks episode is 45 minutes long, the 3rd longest episode to date. Rumor going around is the episode is titled "The Jedi"

Glad to see one of the best characters getting some major live action spotlight.

because the Trade Federation did that - and it didn't work out too well for them.

But I’m not sure how these Storm Troopers got a fearsome reputation

Propaganda is a powerful tool.

Plus, in the years between episode 3 and 4, they were still largely the well trained and capable clones, as well as mainly just doing terrible things to largely unarmed civilians, not anything against any type of trained or organized resistance.

So this is when The Mandalorian takes place? I'm no SW nerd, so help me out here, why doesn't The Mandalorian recognize that Baby Yoda is a force user?

There are (were) a few thousand force users in a galaxy of trillions+.

Some people have interacted with or know about them, some have heard stories, but the vast majority of people know nothing about it.

The Mandalorian takes place mostly on backwater planets in the outer rim, so it makes sense that most of the characters don't know what a Jedi or force user is.

No. The Mandalorian takes place a few years after Episode 6. The Empire had been defeated and all that was left were a few remnant Imperial bases/loyalists.

That is true. Didn’t really think of that. If they went to Coruscant, there would likely be quite a few older people that remembered the Jedi.

No, but that is when the starmtroopers got their reputation. At that time, the were a legitimate fighting force that could pretty much beat anyone. The closer you get to 4, the majority of the clones had died off due to the accelerated aging, so the stromtroopers were largely made up of just random slaves/volunteers/whoever they could find and weren't nearly as capable.

Mandalorian takes place a good bit after 6. So, there hadn't been any force users outside of Luke, Vader, and Palpatine for quite a long time. Not to mention that the Empire basically scrubbed any record of the Jedi from history and killed most people that knew anything about them or even really spoke about them.

As others have replied, this is a few years after Episode 6 (Return of the Jedi) and the fall of the Empire. I don't think that many people by that time really recognized force users anymore. The Sith (Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader) had wiped out nearly all force users (primarily Jedi) who would not serve the Empire. Any that remained were basically force to go into hiding. Luke has not had enough time to really build a new Jedi order yet. I just don't think Mando, especially being a Mandalorian, had spent much time around any force users. The show makes clear that he doesn't even know who the Jedi are.

Gotta love the sensitivity displayed by the New Republic pilot who casually just asks Cara, “Did you lose anyone on Alderaan?”
