know storm troopers in general are a joke, but what is the point of their body armor if they can’t even take one blaster shot?

I wish they would put up a little better fight sometimes.

Yeah no kidding. The only time they seem to have impeccable aim is when they're hitting Mando and his indestructible armor.

Gina Carano would've been a great Wonder Woman at the beginning of the 2010s.

She can fight with a powerful finesse, is ripped and jacked enough to be an amazon and is pretty enough in the face to be a Princess and is awkward enough to play the role of Diana.

This is a space western serial.

Right.

But I also want to see high traffic places like Coruscant as we haven't see that place in live action since the prequels.

I want to see what became of the senate building, what happened to the old Jedi Temple/Imperial Palace and what happened to the planet under Imperial and now New Republic rule.

There's a lot of potential action topside but it also has a thriving underworld and a lot of story to tell that the Mandalorian could work with.

So what did we see at the end? Vessels for Palpatine, Proto-Snokes, Dark troopers?

What does Gideon have at his disposal. That ship ar the end was a command cruiser. Does he have a star destroyer at his disposal? If so he could be a real threat. If his big weapon is the command cruiser he is insignificant.

The ship that Gideon was in is this which is a light cruiser...

It may not be a full blown star destroyer but it's no slouch, is competent and can hold its own against the vast majority of warships out there for a healthy amount of time.

It would be lot of trouble for the Razor Crest and new republic X wings alone.

There is such a wealth of material and locations they have to work with.

They seem to be moving towards trying to do for the sequels what "Clone Wars" did for the prequels. If anyone could pull it off this group can.

Now if we can find a way to de-age Mark Hamill so we can get Luke Skywalker one last time in the hands of people who respect the character...

EDIT: One whoopsy from director Carl Weathers, you can see part of one of the film crew during a shot. As others have said, this being Star Wars that guy will have an established backstory and character name in weeks.

Just use Sebastian Stan. No need to de-age, even though they probably could, Kurt Russell at the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is a great example.

That cruiser is nothing. It only houses 2 or three ties depending on the tie configuration. It is made more for supply runs between capital ships than it is for waging war.

So Gideon has taken over as the leader of the Empire after Palp and Vader?

More like just in that sector. With the Empire pretty much fragmented, people like Gideon have rose up to be warlords and control the sector they are in. Technically there is no Empire united under one banner.

Dark Troopers. The descriptive audio flat out says it.

Its capable of handling anything the New Republic is sending out there at the moment.

It depends on what they use from the EU. Thrawn also reenters the Outer Rim around this time. After the Battle of Jakku what was left of the empire including most of the fleet retreated back to the Outer Rim.

They have so much material they could use.

re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 12 (S2E4) ***SPOILERS***
Thrawn appears 5 years after the destruction of the 2nd death star. This appears to be about 30-35 years later, however, not sure how much they care about canon at this point.

ETA: I am a huge Thrawn fan and as much as I would love to see him, he deserves more than this. He deserves a trilogy.
