I thought they were Death Troopers

Death Troopers are augmented and have some cybernetic enhancements.

Dark Trooper are a project with combat droids and cyborgs.

I suppose they can loosely connect the two projects if they want and have the Deathtroopers be proto-Dark Troopers but as far as we know they are two separate projects and troopers.

Kinda disappointed they’re going to connect to the new trilogy. I’d like for Mandalorian to stand on its own. Not just because the new trilogy sucks.

That cruiser is nothing. It only houses 2 or three ties depending on the tie configuration. It is made more for supply runs between capital ships than it is for waging war.

If it was in the inner core against the New Republic, I would agree with you but with what the New republic has in the outer rim, it can hold its own.

Even the ship that Bo Katan and her people stole in the third episode is lighter, has less weaponry and is less armored than the command cruiser we saw Gideon on.

I would not be surprised to see in the finale that Bo Katan will use that ship against Gideon's cruiser.

Yep. This is in the period between the fall of the Empire and the rise of the New Odor. Err... New Order.

Its fascinating to see the rise of warlords and Imperial remnants, something we've seen historically several times in real life when a central government collapses and leaves a power vacuum.

Completely agree, but I don't want them to connect because the new trilogy sucks that bad. Disney trying to force feed their garbage down our throats is going to make it even worse.

I doubt that happens. Remember this show is set around 5ABY. The Force Awakens(SW7) takes place 34 ABY. So almost 30 years after the Mandalorian. This show will back story at most to the new trilogy.

The First Order(new trilogies) I believe also started to form around 21 ABY and officially came out of the Unknown region around 29ABY.

All we are seeing now are remnants of the fallen Empire.

Dark troopers

This is what I believe they were. I feel like in at least one game, there were dark troopers that were actually force sensitive. I think that is what Moff is trying to do.

Episode was solid but I am getting tired of the same formula every episode. It is just like a adventure video game. “Hello traveller! I’d be happy to help you on your quest, but first I need you to do something for me”.

I love how this show is realistic about how power vacuums work. It’s not all hunky dory evil loses and everything’s happily ever after. It would be messy like they’re portraying it. Old empire loyalists seizing the opportunity, rebels trying to appear as legitimate government and the citizens being skeptical/unsure of who to trust. Really well done.

Every episode is so good
Enough nostalgia and enough future conflict setting up for some serious stakes going forward

Disney has outdone themselves with this series. It’s becoming fantastic.

This episode was just so gorgeous. From seeing the speeders dispatch to the Ravencrest in action. Marvel movies would be jealous of camera work like that.

Yeah if it was 30-35 years the first episode of this season would make no sense at all.

I’m ready for some spinoffs now. Even if they are just a one season series. Just tell a story about a certain character.

I agree. Not to mention those who want nothing to do with the power struggle between the two sides. Everyone seems to be content to rule with a local marshal similar to the old west.

They live on one tiny arse planet. If I recall they the old Imperial base is on the other side of the planet.

I know storm troopers in general are a joke, but what is the point of their body armor if they can’t even take one blaster shot?

From what we’ve seen in the Rebel series, they’re not always dying after one shot. They usually get knocked out if they’re only shot once or twice. So in that regard isn’t that useless.

But I’m not sure how these Storm Troopers got a fearsome reputation. They seem to have like 2 weeks training. Though that would make sense given where the Empire is just small pockets now.
