Ellie casting sucks cuz the actual scene meant a lot in the story. More sadness in her voice and thats all linked to joel. Instead of singing it to impress dina she is trying to remember the chords joel taught her

That's ridiculous. They could have made this so much easier on themselves and the viewers by simply making the extremely obvious decision. What a frick up.

I know. The mf that was making his own movie and just a huge TLOU fan was able to nail the casting better than the actual TLOU people.
It’s not just a look thing either. Cailee is an extremely capable actress, and Bella is just terrible

Was Spaeny going to play Ellie? I remember hearing that Dever was approached, but I never knew that spaeny was as well. I just know she's always been at the top of fan casting.
