on society as a whole since i would assume movies are meant to make money by the producers and creators of movies.

Saying that, they obviously think this is what the masses actually want to spend $15 to see.

No way i want to burn the better part of $25 to leave depressed.

And how many damn marvel movies can you make anyway without people saying "no more"?

Misuse of an Animal House quote.

Judging the movie without seeing it.

Intentional obtuse hipster reference to show us that he's above knowing anything about comic books.

The fact the it looked depressing is exactly why I went to see it

I usually skip all comic book related films, but this one looked right up my alley.

Not everybody wants to see unicorns and butterflies...

Also, it’s not marvel. That’s another reason I was ok with watching it.

I can’t believe the Joker’s origin story is that a group of black kids once made fun of him for eating beans in a movie theater??

I don’t understand your references to the money you are spending.

You say you don’t want to spend $15, and then a couple of sentences later you say you don’t want to spend the better part of $25. While I guess that is correct, that is a very odd way to phrase that. Is $25 your benchmark when it comes to purchases?

I guess you are accounting for buying snacks too. At first glance though that was a really weird way to talk about the money you’ll be spending

No, I just get very bored by action. Figured this wasn’t going to be all fights and car chases.

I also watched mean girls yesterday if that makes you feel better about me being just a normal basic bitch...

You spend $15 for a single ticket?

Where do you live, San Francisco?

Didn't a guy in the OT say this happened to him in a thread once? Or am I going nuts?

Comic book/superhero movies are the cowboy/western genre of this era.

Roughly 1300 Westerns have been made since the 1890s, with its peak being the 40s, 50s, & 60s with almost 900 westerns made during those three decades with an average of about 30 new films per year.

While superhero movies have been made infrequently since the 50s, it was 2008 ignited that the current superhero craze due to The Dark Knight & Iron Man's success that year. There have been 23 MCU movies and 13 DC movies since 2008. That's just over 3 superhero movies per year.

Yes, absolutely.

Society is more full of sick, depressed, isolated, nihilistic people than ever before, and the worst part of it is that culture has taught people not to believe in objective truth, so people can justify to themselves literally anything.
