No. You are just completely misremembering.
There were, again, literally dozens of articles about it at the time that you can still find
Hardcore film fans would recognize him as that guy. No one else would.

Shouldn't at least one of them be a man?

Daniel Craig was not very well known at all.
And he is now known worldwide as the worst Bond ever.

I disagree. I liked Craig as Bond

Outside of his first film, Craig was a mopey Bond bitch.

Some of the hottest names in Hollywood right now on the list and most of them actually british (Elordi is Aussie)
Hottest names in Hollywood? What are you smoking.

I thought Corenswet was a bad choice for Superman, until I saw it.
I'll reserve judgement

Elordi, Turner and Mescal are pretty hot names right now

That movie was arse. Dude made zero impression as Superman. Nothing remarkable about his performance.

Both Turner and Elordi are like 6'5" so they are obviously playing around with that concept
Or height just doesn't matter and if they want him to seem a little shorter its not a big deal. Hollywood has been getting around height differences for decades at this point.
Its not like Jack Reacher where there's really not much you can do to make Tom Cruise look like the character is supposed to look in the source material.

I thought he did fine as a Donner-style Superman
Movie was fine. Not great, not bad
Script cohesion was it's biggest issue. Most of the script was just stuff happening with little reason

How about none of the above
They should just stop making Bond for a while

Amazon just bought the rights for a huge amount of money and hired Denis Villneuve one of the world's best filmmakers to oversee it
I don't think they are going to pause for awhile

They make good money. There's no reason to stop making them

Craig was well known and in big movies like Road to Perdition,
And he played such a spoiled, despicable person in that movie. Much different than his Bond persona.
As far as actors playing Bond------why not Tom Hardy??? He's British, has played his share of tough guy roles and played them well.
The only problem I can see is how he sometimes delivers dialogue, but with work, that can be corrected.

I would’ve liked Hardy too but I think they want someone under 40 if not much younger.

I watched it again the other day. Thought it was worse the second time around.

Mescal would be my top choice out of this slate (although Elordi might make it work).
I still think either Nicholas Hoult or Jack O'Connell would be better than any of these.
Hoult has the look:
...as does O'Connell (I had O'Connell on my short list for Bond 5 or 6 years ago)
Both are better actors than pretty much anybody on the list, although, again, I think Mescal and Elordi might be servicable.
(O'Connell is a #Shortking, so that might be a problem - still can act circles around all the femboys - Hoult is 6'2" ish, so he'd be fine.)
