Out of these six, Lowden is the pick. Has the look. So unless he has Pee Wee Herman's voice should be an easy choice.

Elordi and Mescal are too well known and don't have the right presence for the role. Turner is fugly. Don't know anything about Dickinson and Barton but they seem too young.

I would’ve liked Hardy too but I think they want someone under 40 if not much younger.

I can see that, but the guy keeps himself incredibly fit from what I've seen of him in movies.

Chicks love this dude. The rom com popularity and the fact that he just married freaking Dua Lipa. Fugly is working out pretty good for him.

Chicks are not the audience for James Bond, or at least shouldn't be.

I didn't say he was a bad actor, just not right for James Bond.

You said he was fugly. The opposite sex disagrees. I don't think how attractive other men think a guy is really the basis for hiring James Bond either.

Craig was well known and in big movies like Road to Perdition, Tomb Raider, Munich, infamous

He was the 4ty or 5th lead in Munich, at least in terms of lines and importance, his highest profile studio part before CR. Infamous, an almost straight to DVD version of that story, had him in a supporting role and came out a month before Casino Royale. No went to the new Bond saying, "Did you see the guy from the shitty version of the story Philip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for is the New Bond?"

He was known, for those who knew of him at all, for Layer Cake, as it was one of his only movies where both he and the film were good. If you were still renting dvds from blockbuster and Netflix, you probably saw him in the trailer for Enduring Love. Hot damn, were they advertising the hell out of that on indie DVD releases in 2005.

I mean there's a lot of women who think Pete Davidson is hot, doesn't mean he should play Bond either.

Madking either just loves to argue to argue or is living in an alternate reality

Like, its not even up to debate. He was known to hardcore filmfans and that is about it

The general public was not aware of him really at all

Both Turner and Elordi are like 6'5" so they are obviously playing around with that concept

Callum Turner is 6'1". Elordi is a stork.

You are quibbling about the semantics of the word unknown for 5 pages in a thread that it doesn't matter.

Hollywood had cast him in things. He was a working actor. He was known a little bit to hardcore film fans because of layer cake

He was not even remotely known in any significant way to general audiences. That is what unknown means in this context to any reasonable person. It is really not up for debate despite your mental breakdown over it

The producers flat out said at the time it was because of Layer Cake

Then why do you continue arguing it? Same pattern, start shite then point the finger at the other person. Your butt buddy is the one who twisted what I said and he’s wrong anyway. Craig is the primary antagonist in RTP. He kills Mike’s family, Mike is after him and he’s the last person Mike kills. Stop the BS just because you made an oversight.

What’s your point? That was clearly a smaller role in a movie starring Tom Hanks and Taylor Hochlan. His role was also lessened by Jude Law’s Harlen Maguire.

But beyond that, the others are correct. Craig, while known in Hollywood circles, was not a major name that was going to put butts in seats.

Most didn’t know him outside Britain.
