Some others are saying Jack O'Connell is also a finalist

Why do they all look so melancholy?

Elordi is the only possible hit maker here. Anyone else gets the part and Bond becomes strictly streaming content.

Don't know anything about this guy, but he looks the part. He's also 6ft which is good height for Bond. Elordi might be too tall for the role

The photos were selected by Page Six, which leads me to believe that it's now a Teen Beat magazine for moody Generation Z drama graduates.

Some of the hottest names in Hollywood right now on the list and most of them actually british (Elordi is Aussie)

This is a pretty damn good list, actually

Lowden would be incredible but has to be much older than all the rest

I like Lowden, he’s been good in what I’ve seen him in but watch something with him and you’ll see what I mean that he’s not a Bond. Elordi is tall but he can act, some of the physicality in Frankenstein looked fluid so could do some of the fighting/stunts. The height is an issue but he has gravitas and the women like him. Out of those guys, especially after NTTD, you need someone who can get people in seats. Elordi may not be a guarantee there but the others are a guarantee not to do it. Dog Stars maybe a little barometer for Elordi.

There is no list of names for which your reply would have been any different

The last 2 were very well known prior to being Bond.

Way too tall. Would make the Bond girls look like toddlers standing next to him. Don't care for him as an actor either. Boring and sleepy in most roles, then hams it up as Frankenstein's monster.

Daniel Craig was not very well known at all.

He had a "hot" movie called Layer Cake that made him a name in Hollywood circles only, it only made like 12 million bucks at the box office.

he was not known AT ALL to general audiences, complete unknown really

Pierce obviously was, but most other Bond actors were not

Elordi is in a movie this weekend directed by Ridley Scott that is going to be the biggest bomb of his career

Craig was well known and in big movies like Road to Perdition, Tomb Raider, Munich, infamous

If Dog Stars bombs that badly, yea that’ll be a big red flag.

Both Turner and Elordi are like 6'5" so they are obviously playing around with that concept

There are plenty of models you can put with a tall guy and be fine. He just made a series with two tiny girls and nobody said anything about the height difference.

Audiences did not know who he is. I did not say that he had never been in anything.

Layer Cake was the film that got him bond.

I think he was cast as Bond before Munich had come out as well.

Like...this is a well documented thing that Craig was "unknown" to most audiences before Bond, it was part of why he was cast
