1) I'm starting to hate this board. It's nothing but people who complain about shows in thread after thread.

2) Naomi et. al. were annoying. Marcos sucks. Phillip sucks. They're supposed to suck. They're shitty.

3) Most important discovery ever happens, and people are squabbling over petty bullshite. Sounds very.. human. that's possibly the worst complaint I've ever seen about this show. In addition, this is completely in line with the source material.

I don[t know, people. I get that the Belter drama (specifically with regards to Naomi and family) gets old. But this show is still good. I just feel like the people on this board have become programmed to nitpick and hate on everything... and find some political reason that they hate it. Getting old.

Loved seeing Roci and Bobbie’s fire trigger control make Marco the fool and make him into the sniveling little bitch he is in front of his own crew with his son calling him out.

I’m hard right now for a big space battle. Naomi was more tolerable this episode and any episode with more Chrissy and less Marco is good.

They've really captured the spirit of the books this season, in my opinion.

I keep having issues with thinking a scene has already happened in the series, but it actually only having happened in the books that I've already read.

This battle scene, the Holden torpedo disarm, and the conflict between Marko and Philip, I thought had already happened in the series for some reason.. then I realized I was just remembering it from the books, but it's pretty much exactly how I pictured it in the books.

Anyway, it's a good sign for an adaptation when you feel like you've already seen something before and realize that you just read it.

As I said above: for those annoyed by Markos and Philip, you're supposed to be... they were absolutely awful in the books and you wanted to see them brought low. They're clear antagonists without any real redeeming qualities. I do think the series did a disservice to Naomi in not showing just how damned brilliant she is and, instead, focusing too much on her tortured relationship with Philip. In the books, Naomi is a badass genius. She's that in the show as well, but they don't show it enough.

Have you met the human race? This is completely believable to me.

God, Camina Drummer is such a great character. I am both excited about how they will portray what should be coming in last two episodes, but also so sad there will be a long wait for any possible future stuff. I have the final book, but have not started reading it yet....stretching out the goodbye.

I’ve enjoyed this season, but I’ve not read any books. Still not getting the relevance of the settlers beyond the ring and I realize I might not get any payoff from that plot line until the show resumes in a few years, if ever.

You are correct, the systems past the ring gates come to prominence after the 30 year jump in the books.

I forced myself to get through the season 5 family drama, and am glad I did. It was exciting to see in the season 5 finale, the beginnings of Laconia and to actually see a vessel go Dutchman.

Last episode was good.

I do respect the position Holden is in, but he should have taken Inaros out. Philip's not worth saving.

Absolutely. If he can’t pull the trigger he shouldn’t be captain.

Slightly off topic but what the hell is going on with Steven Strait? He’s so emaciated now it’s the first thing I notice every time his character appears.

I think people forget that Holden has always been written as a an against-trope character- he isn't the supremely competent captain, always making a savvy plan to get the ship out of trouble. In fact, all of his choices are highly emotional, irrational, and constantly get the crew into hot water before using their unique skill sets to get the ship out of it. He is noted for his conscience even if it means making decisions that go against self- preservation. He has just been very lucky to have a supremely competent crew or he would have been dead long ago, like most other "white knights".

This is a very typical Holden move throughout the show and books. He makes these sorts of calls all the time. Sometimes they don’t work out, sometimes they are what’s needed to save the day.

No, they want you to sympathize with Philip and Naomi. You’re supposed to feel Naomis struggle, and your supposed to sympathize with Holden when he disabled the torpedo.

But you don’t.

Y'know, I'm going to have to revise my opinion on Holden's actions. I was looking at it through the single episode, with last season semi-forgotten.

Let's go look back at the bigger picture here: Marco (and Philip) intentionally attacked Earth. They are directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of civilians, the complete wipeout of the standing government, and more importantly, the reduction of Earth from 23rd (or whatever century) back to maybe 17the Century capacity. There will be a nuclear winter for decades which will kill billions more. The only option for anyone, was to get off Earth.

Holden is from Earth.
For him to have a kill shot on Marco and pull it, because he doesn't want to kill his girlfriend's son (who is a militant enemy combatant)... he should be executed for that.

I guess we can pretend that it’s a result of his radiation poisoning on Eros. He looks like a skeleton now.

I'm surprised Amos didn't turn Holden into space trash.

I don't see much difference between the two........

Try not to let your fanboy attitudes show.
