When the bimbo crewmember of Drummer's botched the shot on that Free Navy ship, what caused the explosion? I watched a couple of times and didn't catch how that played out.

Seems they were trying to salvage parts and supplies but didn't get all they needed. Was there some sort of self-destruct they set off?

So, Dawes is dead?

I wonder why the screenwriters went this direction

Yeah, I had to scan back & see if that was on screen or not. Sucks if that’s true.

Definitely not a fan of the actress, but the character too- why is she being a count to Peaches at this point? They've been on the ship together for half a year, Peaches is doing her job to help, and Naomi has more blood on her hands now.

In the book, the hostility towards Peaches came from Holden, not Naomi.

That was a bad change. The showrunners just aren't reading the room well. Viewers dislike Naomi right now.

I think Harris was unavailable for filming.

yea i think drummer hit the self destruct. They wanted to get more ammo of the ship. which is why they focused on the conversation about only getting 1 torpedo.

What happened to the new pilot from last season it seemed they were grooming to take Alex's spot.

Namoi sucked once her and Holden got together. Idk if i can watch another plot lit that focuses on her after that episode last season of her beating on the ship for an hour.

My guess is that they're ignoring the audience opinions because the showrunners and writers were the ones who gave us this crap version of Naomi and her quest to save Filip in the first place. (IDK, just a guess, having not read the books.) And because THEY can't be wrong, it's the audience's fault.

Looks like Filip is sliding down a path of self-destruction. Just curious as to who he'll take with him.

There are only 6 episodes this season. It seems like that's not enough to wrap up both the Marcos story line and the rogue Martians on the other side of the gate story line. I'm guessing the rogue martian storyline is one that wraps up in Season 7 10 years from now after the time jump.

That's not a narrative they invented. It was a big storyline in book 5, the actors are just so unlikable.

Book 5 and season 5 were always going to be a weak point. I feel like they could have strengthened it if they dug into the novellas a bit.

I wouldn't worry about it. The runtime is supposed to be longer on some episodes.

The rogue Martians are now Laconians - that's a big story from books 7-9. If they try to wrap that up in 6 episodes I might be out on it.

Pretty sure this season only covers through book 6. The whole Laconia deal will be covered after they take a hiatus, if the show ever returns.

They're already hinting at stuff beyond book 6, but I won't say anything else. Spoilers.

I'd be shocked if they didn't reveal more from future books. They want to finish the story, so they need to keep interest in it alive. I think Amazon studios is just tight on money with Wheel of Time and Lord of the Rings. Once they finish fricking up those two high fantasy masterpieces they'll come back to The Expanse.

I assumed this as well, but the opening scene for this episode made me think that they're moving things along pretty rapidly.

I don’t know man, I don’t know if I can take all this belter drama shite this season. I just don’t care at all about Filipe, Marcos, or any of them. Plus the actors are so over the top it’s ridiculous.

If their drama is a focal point of the season it’s going to be hard to get through it

It’s too bad, the show really was great and the world they built is extremely interesting. Why they are choosing to focus the storylines on the internal struggles of a teenage terrorist, abs the emotions of a mother who abandoned her family I do not know.

How about we learn some more about all of these new planets and this universe changing Proto molecule instead?
