re: The Expanse - Season 6 (Final) 12/10/21

Legitimately thought there were going to be two more episodes. While I enjoyed episode six, I was crushed when I cranked up the Amazon last night and realized I had already seen the finale.

Ok, just finished watching The Expanse last night in a full binge of the episodes.

All-in-all, this is a great sci-fi show. I really enjoyed it an hope to see more of this in the future. I think I will go read the books now. My few observations

1. Marco is boring. Seriously, as a villain he is just boring. The one time he goes up against Holden he gets is arse kicked; badly. The show would have been better if the son had killed Marco and try to take over or something. Marco is suppose to be this megalomaniac cult of personality, but he really never is very dangerous.

2. Naomi's character is better than people here express. She is not great but she is not Skylar White bad. I agree that episode with her holding her breath had me rooting for space to win, but I guess she is an important character.

3. Space combat in this show is incredibly well done. Bullets flying through those ships makes on you feel uncomfortable like anyone can die at any time.

4. Bobby should have died when she charged the gun. Armor is not that good especially when they announced they were using armor piercing bullets 10 minutes earlier and a dude was capped right in front of everyone. But she has the special plot armor.

5. Peaches should have made a sacrifice to save the ship. She had achieve redemption and her character arch would have been finished.

All-in-all was a good show.

I was listening to Ty and that guy (Amos) podcast. They were joking about it being the last pod cast and someone mentioned is it really the end. The guy who plays Amos quickly mentioned it was for us. I would bet anything that gets picked up won’t have the original cast.

Also learned that this was Naomi’s first real acting job. She was a professional dancer for 12 years before the expanse.
