I hope you watched both of the Snyder cuts. They took at 2/10 and made it a 5/10.

Nowhere near the improvement that Justice League was but better.

It’ll do the typical “pop” for a couple of weeks and be in the Netflix top 10 and will be forgotten quickly as Netflix comes out with 700 other items in the coming weeks to bump it down into their content catalog

I enjoyed it (for a streaming movie). They had a great cast.

Can't believe how much it cost to make though.

From what I've read around different places the main reason Netflix (and some other streamers) movies cost so much is b/c there is no back end w/residuals or box office take so the bigger names and directors are getting larger than normal salaries up front to make up for it.

Yeah that has to account for some of it.

And to the other poster that said no way it'll increase their subs by 2.5 million, that isnt the point.

Releasing movies like this maintains subs and also keeps their stock value up by generating hype.

I guess you also have to figure that Netflix doesn't have to share anything with theaters like a typical movie production would.

I wonder the legality of something like a theater simply projecting a new release from a streaming site like NF in their theaters. The theater could pay the monthly NF fee and simply show movies/sell tickets to people who want to experience those movies (or shows even?) in a theater setting.

I assume there are some things in the industry that would prevent that, but on the surface it seems like it would be at least relatively legal.

Would also be much cheaper cost for the theater. Basically just like $20 a month for a NF subscription.

So we pretty much all agree Chris Pratts character was fricking that robot, right?

Timeline makes no sense. I turned it off with a little over an hour left. Doubt that I'll finish it. Was pretty awful imo.

Not what you think. Wasn't a sexy robot (or even female). Just one exaggerated emotional scene trying too hard to be funny

Hope you enjoy. I think if you view it as a traditional summer flick and not high art, it’s a very decent movie.

Somebody on an other thread commented about schlop from Netflix lowering the bar (and that’s fair) but I rather enjoyed it as a decent scifi movie.

I wouldn’t have hated to pay to see it in theaters.

wtf is wrong with people in this thread? The movie was fun and my little boy absolutely ate it up.

Sorry it wasn't dark and brooding but if you can't get behind Mr Peanut leading a robot charge against a fricked up Steve jobs villain you have no childhood spirit left inside your soul .

I watched it Friday. Would like those two hours back.

I thought it was a fun watch, honestly.

Should it win best picture? No.

But I found it entertaining. Not quite as fun as the Lego Movie -- but gave me the same vibe.
