I just can't buy Elordi in this role at all. Like the other castings

how come? i dont know anything about him. after looking at his roles, the only thing i've seen is Frankenstein, which was pretty good but probably doesnt really demonstrate his acting chops.
i think him and the main girl in the cast are probably both of a little too pretty in the context of the source material, but that's nothign new for Hollywood.
Guy Pearce and Josh Brolin are pretty perfectly cast IMO (without having seen the movie yet, obv)

I enjoyed the book, but not sure I can handle the dog part

Will be seeing Thursday. Ridley Scott is so hit or miss these days but i think Elordi is the real deal.

Looking forward to it. Haven’t read the book. But I’ll be seeing it this weekend.

Its been a while since i've read the book but I don't remember the amount of violence and fighting that you see in the trailer. Wouldn't be surprised if they added some to spice up the movie.

Saw it tonight.
While I personally enjoyed it, i think it may be a bit slow and heavy for a lot of people. The action scenes are great, but probably not enough for the Ritalin generation.
Beautiful Colorado scenery and cinematography; great aerial shots.
Weird ironic thing was seeing this post-apocalyptic movie at a theater that's on the property of a closed/abandoned mall...

Another big ole flop for Disney. They better hope Doomsday rakes it in with the costs associated with it. I guess you can cross Elordi off the James Bond list.

Three of us saw this last night. We really enjoyed it. Fuk what all the critics say and finally a movie with a solid ending.

I saw it yesterday and enjoyed it as well. I think the knock on it is it dosent really add anything new to the post-apocalyptic sub-genre. Everything in it we've already seen before. Especially the Grand Junction reveal. However, it was an entertaining flick and worth a watch on a tuesday afternoon. I like Ellordi.

although RT critics ratings are to be taken with a huge grain of salt.

How many times can you cock a gun in this trailer? Lucky it wasn't a drinking game

saw it last night, excellent scenery like mentioned, the soundtrack is great and fits it, great acting, a bit slow of a movie. I am not sure about the great ending part personally.
SPOILERS:
There was no explanation of the virus, nor the reapers.
I felt it very lacking, it just seemed there was nothing of consequence in the movie at all, the story was quite weak and then the film just ended like there was more to the story to tell, but credits start rolling.

I really enjoyed this movie. It spent some time developing the characters but I don’t mind that in a movie especially when the last hour or so is nonstop.
If you like apocalyptic movies without zombies you will enjoy this.

there wasnt in the book either. just sort of a vague explanation of a flu-like virus and some sort of blood disease that followed. never really got into the details nor did it seem to matter. the book was more of just a story of how life was for Hig and Co. seems like from the responses here and reviews that it's one of those stories that made a good book but not a great movie.

Regarding the virus; no, there were no details, but I think that sometimes less is more.
A good example was this was the movie Children of Men, in which women stop having babies. In the movie, it is not described why scientifically. There is talk of a scientist group (The Human Project) trying to figure out the "why?" of infertility and to correct it in the face of decaying civilization. But other than that, there are no details given to the audience if it was actually male infertility, or female infertility, or was it that women stopped producing eggs, or fertilization wouldn't occur, or implantation didn't occur. It just was given as a fact that it basically occurred some twenty-odd years ago with the lead-off that the world's youngest person, "Baby Diego" had been killed.
Regarding the Reapers, I'm pretty sure that was the wild feral gang that invaded the airport compound. Their tattoos looked a lot like the wall graffiti in Denver around the time Elordi encountered the one scavenger who told him about them.
