Denying reality? Double standards? Self awareness and delusions? What in the actual frick are you talking about? I summarized what the diner conversation entailed. I've asked you to explain what part of that scene illustrates a woke political agenda. Was it just the phrase "my white man" that set you off? Those three words don't amount to much of an agenda. So out with it, now is the time to connect all the dots. Are you unwilling or just incapable of explaining what this grand woke conspiracy is?

I'm not much of a Green Lantern fan, as in, I don't really know all of the back story to the character or the comics. But my layman's understanding has always been that Green Lantern needed the ring for his powers. But I'll say this about the show. If they take John Stewart's Green Lantern and turn the story into some Green Mile, Magical Negro bullshite that's just gonna piss me off. It's no better than the Mary Sue shite they do with female antagonists.

Someone gave you a simple example of the show’s political leanings as if you didn’t know who David Lendelof, a man who’s very open about injecting his politics into his shows, was to begin with. You just dismissed this without reasoning denying reality and showing a double standard because if the roles were reversed and these comments were made you’d call them racist of course.

The words used were "a political agenda", not leanings. I am asking you for the umpteenth time to articulate coherently what you think the agenda is. It shouldn't be that difficult if it's so simple. I didn't dismiss anything, I actually went back and watched the scene again, and summarized what was said. I haven't used any sort of double standard nor said anything about racism. You pulled that out of your arse to slander me, and that's not cool. As for Lindelof, I absolutely detested The Watchmen series. The Leftovers sucked, too.

I read the first two pages of the thread, and as soon as I saw THR being referenced, I stopped reading. I looked at Reelgood's ratings, which are 96% positive. I stopped reading and watched both episodes. Like I would assume most people would do.
I like Kyle Chandler's character. I am fine with the black guy being uptight, it's a character. The cafe scene, I thought she was more bitching about her husband than anything else. Seems fine so far. I was never into DC, so I have about zero backstory and don't really care about canon (not that comic books seem to have stuck to any of it once the spin offs kicked off and alternate realities became a thing.)
