Yes, acting like there is and always has been one set of rules that DC hasn't constantly changed and broken for convenience is being very disingenuous.
We don't know the rules in this show, as everyone in the first episode acted very oddly about John being trained with this ring. And now in episode 2 we get a bunch of unsubtle hints and clear evidence that John is special in some way. We don't know where that's going yet, but you could probably bet it will have be related to the ring. Or, you could be a fukking idiot who acts like you know exactly what's going on when you're really just proving you don't understand how stories work.
You're like the douche in blueboy's video who very confidently announced we wouldn't see Hal or John put the suit on until the final minutes of the final episode of the season. He owned a comic store, so he knows everything. Just like your yapping about story you don't know yet, missing the stuff that's actually been shown to the audience, because either a) you're not actually watching it or b) you're dumb and just parrotting other idiots online.
