Can’t just give the ring to anybody and them use it the way he’s doing with John. I know you don’t know but there’s a ton of things the ring can do and Hal can do with it aka projection, proximity, copying etc.. which isn’t what John’s doing. Pretending that close proximity projection is the same thing as John being hundreds of miles away, making constructs without the ring are the same is just being disingenuous.

Then they should ditch the ring, it's stupid. Give him laser eyes like Superman and an unobtainium skeleton with claws that shoot out. He won't need to fly because he's got an invisible jet. It's still Green Lantern, because the writers say so.
It doesn't bother me because I know next to nothing about GL, but damn. At some point you've got to keep a basic framework if you're going to claim it's a show about an actual character that people are familiar with.

It’s a farcical argument. It would be like saying Bilbo found a hidden F-18 fighter jet in the hills and used it to kill Smaug is not breaking cannon because a new writer decided to put it into a new version of the story.

Its premier did about 40% of what the HOTD S3 finale did. It did worse than Acolyte’s premier on a more accessible platform so it’s early but it’s not a hit or anything.

Let’s compare a random DC show to the 12th season finale of a Westeros show It’s a top 5 all time viewership for the first three days for any HBO show. Higher than The Penguin, which would obviously be a much better comp than the finale of House of the Dragon or a show on a different platform.
