In hindsight, the role probably should have gone to Amy Adams. She was one of the finalists for the part

She played Rachel Dawes in Cillian Murphy’s audition/screen test for Batman. He was also the close runner-up for the Batman part.

(You can hear her voice.)

Bale and Murphy had to wear the Val Kilmer Batman Forever “Panther” suit for these auditions.

I mean, they cratered the football field 100 feet deep without destroying the endzone or stands. That's impressive.

I also like that they didn't even try to hide it was Pittsburgh's home field. That used the actual ads on the scoreboard.

My least favorite part is when the doctor puts up Bruce’s X-rays, which are normal, and says he has no cartilage left.

I like Christian Bale but he always looked like a kid with his snorkel mask on too tight

I can't hate it, first Batman movie I saw in theaters and the company I worked for had a big part in the movie. I loved it.

Side note: My sister looks exactly like Anne Hathaway so that part was ruined for me. *(insert Bama joke)*

It is the absolute worst popular movie in history. I could never understand how even the biggest Batman fan can think that huge pile of crap was worth a damn.
The list of issues with it are endless.

Not even close to being a “Batman” fan so that might have been a part of it.

Hm, I’m intrigued by your thoughts.

Still downvoted.

It has its moments.
The fight scene with Bane was pretty good, how many times have we seen Batman get his arse whipped on the big screen?

Plus, Banes lines are pretty badass in this. "Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated you." and Hardy's improved "Do you feel in charge?"

As a whole, the movie was just poorly executed. Had some good ideas, but it didn't even bother following through with them. Many of the lazy issues are posted already, and it really was lazily done overall.

That said, as a mega comic book nerd, I appreciate the small things they did. The movie was a clear riff of The Dark Knight Returns. Bruce is old and beaten down, The 'teeth' on Bane's mask mimic the teeth on the leader of the mutant gang who also handed Batman a nasty beatdown, etc.

but like i said, overall was pretty lazy. That said if i compared it to, say, any movie of the nu star wars trilogy i'd rather rewatch Rises any day.

Say what you want about the movie, but the beginning scene in the airplane is fricking awesome.

That's one thing that pissed me off so much. Amazing opening like Dark Knight then off the rails
