The Batman voice in this one is so over the top it's comical now when I rewatch it. I start laughing in most Batman scenes. Loved it when it came out though. Hasn't aged well.

Additionally the whole Robin storyline was unnecessary and would have needed to be the main plot line instead of a side plot to work.

For as much shite as Snyder rightly gets for "Martha" in BvS Blake figuring out Wayne was Batman based off his feelings from being an angry orphan was just as bad.

"You came to my orphanage one day and I knew you were Batman!"

Not one punch was landed in the final fight scene between police and Bane’s thugs. Once you see this for the first time, you can’t unsee it and completely ruins the climax.

Hardy just mumbled his way to a terrible Connery impersonation. It’s a terrible movie all the way around.

Exactly what I said about Hardy. He looked good physically but Jesus that voice just made me laugh. I can't stand Anne Hathaway so that ruined Catwoman for me, and Joseph Gordon Levitt slicking his hair back, lowering his voice, and getting all serious like he did in this and Inception looks silly to me

Wayne traveled the world for years as a castaway without money before becoming Batman. It’s shown in Begins; surely he could find his way back to Gotham.

Bane blows up the bridges (and the tunnels, although we don’t see it) and threatens to blow up the bomb if anybody tries to get in from the mainland. So, we know he has eyes on the perimeter of the island to watch for intruders.

You can’t just waive it off that “he’s Batman.” If he knew of a secret passage under the river to get off the island he should have directed Blake to use that passage rather than try to go across the heavily observed main bridges.

Also, why did Nolan change filming locations from Chicago to New York.

After watching Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, you get the sense that Gotham looks a very particular way.

Then in TDKR, it looks like New York City.

It’s sort of a mixture.

In BB and TDK it’s 100 percent Chicago for the Gotham skyline and England for Wayne Manor.

In TDKR, it’s roughly 50:50 NYC and Pittsburgh.

Yeah the part where a bunch of dudes literally hold the NYSE hostage and then the next day Bruce Wayne magically made a bunch of bets at that same time that reduce his net worth to 0 as if they were totally unrelated is hilarious.

Plus he’d have an alibi on not being there and that his fingerprints were stolen.

Yeah, it's bad.

At this point, I can't go into too many details about why, because I've forgotten the movie. I've never wanted to watch it a second time.

I do remember laughing at some of the stupidity... as I remember it just misses on almost everything.

I also remember some of the fans losing their minds and threatening reviewers who didn't give it a good review.

BB was Chicago with a damn cool Narrows set or model along with the sky train to make it look like it’s own city.

TDK was pretty much just Chicago.

TDKR was Pittsburgh.

The lack of continuity with the city was a problem for me

It was a fun, well made movie that had a shite ton of plot holes. Batman lighting up his symbol was badass... until you realize he probably had to spend at least a day doing that when Bane was killing off high profile targets

It was never badass to me precisely because it was immediately obvious that it would have been impossible for almost everyone to have done it and a complete waste of time for Batman to have done it.

The movie is just one after another of those moments where you’re immediately confused as to the mechanics of what’s going on.

Edit: Another issue is Fox still having 3 Tumblers in the Wayne building arsenal. I know he threatened the lawyer in TDK if the lawyer revealed the blueprints, but he should have still have thought it would have been a bad thing to keep them.

He should have asked Wayne if he wanted to have a replacement Tumbler, shipped what he could to Wayne Manor, and then dismantled what was left over and destroyed the blueprints.

For people complaining so much about the movie you don’t know much about it

That said I don’t recall the exact reason for the change but I’d bet it was legal or tax related

Continuity of the city wasn’t ideal. The main thing I didn’t like about the series was Rachel Dawes not being Katie Holmes. Took away the impact of her death imo

A dozen NYC shots used in TDRK.

And I already acknowledged that they used Pittsburgh for a few shots (although the majority of shots of the skyline are NYC) in a follow-up comment.

You can blame that on the suits. Around the time Batman Begins was being released you had all of that hoopla over Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes being an item. I believe the executives over at Warner Bros. thought she brought negative publicity to the film and thus didn't ask her to reprise the role.

In hindsight, the role probably should have gone to Amy Adams. She was one of the finalists for the part but she was something of a no-name actress at the time (despite being nominated for an Oscar the year before) and thus the studio heads didn't want her. They thought Katie Holmes would appeal to the teenyboppers in the Dawson's Creek crowd.

I personally think Amy Adams being cast as Lois Lane in Man of Steel was Christopher Nolan sending a message to the suits.
