Nothing against Pascal per se but I think he is lazy casting by Marvel. He just doesn't give me smartest guy on the planet vibes. Also he just doesn't look like he belongs with the rest of the cast.

Should have been Krasinski

How would you explain his role in Antman and WandaVision?

Victor von Doom, one of the most important and fearsome villains in the Marvel canon, has yet to be cast.

A few I haven't seen mentioned yet that could be great.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Andrew Lincoln

Luke Evans

Rami Malek

Matt Smith

Karl Urban

That's an interesting idea.
I always thought he or David Tennant would be good as Reed Richards.

I don't understand casting Pedro Pascal instead of John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic. I would have understood casting a younger actor so they can be involved for a longer period of time, but Pedro Pascal is pushing 50 and is older than John Krasinski.

Pretty good casting overall, I just don't understand passing on the obvious, easy win that would have happened if they announced Krasinski.

From my understanding is Krasinski didn’t want to be part of a long commitment he’s more into directing now

Krasinski is a busy guy. He has an exclusive first-look deal with Paramount. I don't think he was ever really an option.

I like Malek a lot but he's a small guy. Don't see him making sense in that role

Eh. He was bald and sounded british. I think he could pull it off without casuals even noticing it's the same guy.

On a related note, Antony Starr would also be incredible as Doom

Damn, that could work although I think both he and Marvel would shy away from that.

Well that sucks for this casting, but good for him.

I still would have gone with someone younger than Pascal. If they use the FF for 10 years, he'll be nearly 60 years old.

Judging by the aesthetic of this and Ben Grimm holding a Life magazine with LBJ on the cover, the rumors about this being set in the 1960s might be true. Maybe show them gaining their powers while getting trapped in the Negative Zone or Quantum Realm due to one of Reed’s experiments, which would explain why the F4 has been missing during all the prior events.

Then give them the Spider-Man treatment where they have their full powers when they escape and arrive in the present day MCU. Reed would instantly be established as the smartest guy in the room with decades of knowledge about all this multiverse shite.

Also Doom would definitely have to be introduced in this as well because he and Reed meeting for the first time in the 21st century would make zero sense

I’ve seen a couple folks who have said this.

Who would you realistically cast instead that would be better?

You have to keep in mind that budgets have to be lowered now. Marvel cannot afford spending big money on A list actors. Adam Driver was their top choice for Reed, but he was asking for too much.
