I'm sorry...but WTF? Look...I love me The Fugitive and think it's a very entertaining film with solid performances from the entire cast. However, can anyone say with a straight face that Tommy Lee Jones deserved the Oscar over Ralph Fiennes that year? His performance as Amon Goeth in Schindler's List is absolutely iconic. The man disappears in the role and shows us just how evil man can become given the right set of circumstances.

While Tommy Lee Jones is very entertaining as Gerard, his performance just isn't on the same level. Obviously people will counter with the likes of Crash, Shakespeare in Love, or even How Green Was My Valley...but I think Tommy Lee Jones beating out Fiennes is a far more egregious error.

It’s a holiday weekend, maybe let that bitterness go.

You can't deny Tommy Lee Jones' tour de force performance playing Tommy Lee Jones.

Fiennes was robbed for sure.

n the 1993 film The Fugitive. He orders his team,

Fictional, but an incredible work of art

I had completely forgotten that. I agree.

That would be Moonlight over La La Land.

I can’t argue that Fiennes wouldn’t have been a better pick but Moonlight was hot garbage and I usually like most Hollywood sniffing their own fart movies.

Val Kilmer not even being nominated for “Tombstone” is an all-time disgrace. It goes to show that there are some actors whom Hollywood just doesn’t like, for whatever reason, and the industry makes it known. Even in subtle ways like this.

Michael Caine over

Tom Cruise
Jude Law
Michael Clarke Duncan
Haley Joel Osment

Literally any of the other four could’ve won and I’d have been happy.

I got one better. Do you know who won the Oscar for best supporting actor in the 1976 Oscars? Me either…but I know it wasn’t Robert Shaw in Jaws WHO WASNT EVEN NOMINATED!

That is the biggest theft

A friend of mine was a PA when JFK was filming in New Orleans. He and a camera assistant were getting a ride from one of the remote locations back to Production HQ in a van along with TLJ. They thought he was just striking up a conversation when he asked them what their jobs were. After they answered him Jones said "My contract says that I don't ride with anyone below Executive Producer" and had the driver kick them out in the middle of the Projects.
