From the minutes that empty bottle of brown water hits the rain soaked road leading into town, you know shite is going to go down. LOVE this movie and I love the theories that Unforgiven is the spiritual conclusion to the man with no name trilogy.

some people on this thread are confusing rants with monologues. there's obviously some nuance, and a rant is definitely a form of monologue, but a monologue isnt necessarily a rant (in my opinion).

case in point from one movie already discussed in this thread (both great scenes from two actors both arguably at the peak of their powers):

Jessup on the stand - monologue, not a rant
Kaffee drunk - rant
