I was thinking we might see him in a flashback fighting too Sammy but the reason they gave for not having him in a fight was that they didn’t have the budget to do it. I find that hard to believe, maybe it’s a bit of misdirection and we’ll get a surprise. That would be cool

Agree with you and again I don’t even know how a Wookie could be a Jedi in the first place. Wookies are known for their hotheadedness and tempers. Things that you can’t have if you’re going to learn the Jedi ways and how to use the force. But I guess in the post PT Star Wars all that matters is how many space bugs you have in your blood.

maybe they had to pick their battle but honestly I think it’s more narrative and that’s an excuse.
Mae getting to the hut and finding out Calnacca is dead and “he’s here” is better story telling than us seeing the Master kill Calancca
That being said, a Wookiee-Sith lightsaber fight in a small cottage is would have been way way way way cooler

Also, I’m pretty sure the lightsaber move where Qmir turned his one lightsaber into two pieces was a move borrowed directly from Jedi Fallen Order. Pretty cool detail.
I was thinking the whole time he reminded me of that guy you fight on Dathomir. Glad someone else noticed.

Did she also light saber off her forehead brand? Or just added a bit of coverup?
Light sabers can be used as torches in dark caves, as a quick touch up on a hairdo for those too busy Sithing and can't get to a salon.
But a Jedi never uses their Light saber unless they're going to kill.
(Mae's not a Jedi, I get it, but the 'rules' of this show are ridiculous)

Seeing red: Inside The Acolyte's shocking bloodbath and big villain reveal
Manny Jacinto has been keeping a big secret. But there's just one problem: "I'm the worst liar," he says in between sips of an almost comically oversized water bottle. However, the time has finally arrived for Jacinto to come clean, and the sudden explosion of truth-telling is positively intoxicating, no matter what is actually in that bottle.
"I've been lying to people for the last two years — to their faces," he confesses. "Some of them, they straight up call me out and they're like, 'I don't trust what you're saying.' Some of them believe me. But I've been lying, and it gives me a lot of anxiety, having to lie to people."
quote:
To paraphrase the renowned poet LL Cool J, that is a lot of destruction and terror and mayhem for a single episode, a fact that show creator Leslye Headland reveals made some folks behind the scenes a wee bit nervous. "I got some feedback when we were writing and prepping the episode that said, 'Gosh, it's just so much fighting. Don't you think the audience will tune out at some point?'" laughs Headland. "And I said, 'No, I feel really confident that they're going to love this.'"
quote:
But none of that could have prepared fans for the carnage to come in episode 5. For Headland, it was the body count she wanted to surprise people with, not the actual identity of the Stranger. The showrunner anticipated many would figure out the Qimir/Stranger connection before the unmasking, and was totally cool with that because she wasn't trying to fool anyone in the first place — intentionally leaving breadcrumbs along the way. "I think a good twist is not about hiding everything from the audience and then throwing it on them like, 'Hey, this is what you didn't see! We hid it so well that you didn't see this!'" says Headland. "I think a good twist is telegraphing what's going to happen, and then once it does, executing it without an ounce of pity or sentimentality."
As for the brutality of the deaths — decapitations, Force pulling one victim onto a lightsaber protruding from the back of an already slain partner, snapping the neck of a defeated foe — even Headland was somewhat surprised by what she was able to get away with on the family-friendly franchise. "I just figured someone would stop me and nobody did," she says with a laugh. "I figured someone would say, 'This is too far!' But they didn't."
The cast was certainly taken aback by the savagery. "We were all like, 'Leslye, the way that you take them out is so brutal!'" laughs Stenberg. "'What the hell? What kind of sick, twisted masochist are you?'" (Responds Headland: "I guess I always thought, 'Well, Anakin killed a bunch of children, so…'")

The only hope for the future of this show is:
- Eps 6-8 are more like Episode 5
- The season ends with Manny Jacinto's character being the only survivor
- They announce a new show runner for Season 2 (bye bye Leslye)
- Season 2 follows Manny Jacinto's character and we get a brand new cast around him and we actually focus on the Sith in a show that was SUPPOSED to be about the Sith

Yeah that is one of Cal’s upgrades in Fallen Order.

Leslye mentioned that Season 2 will introduce Bane and the Rule of 2. So you're 2 for 4 on that.

Campea is far from being a "righty" or "conservative" and he thinks Acolyte is shite.....lmao

I would prefer they not cover the wookie jedi at all in this show and address it as a focal point in a standalone movie/show.
They also have the Wookie on the cover in all the promotional material which is what also makes it annoying

That’s bull. She was trying to lead people to believe it was the mother (or other mother) behind the mask the whole time - especially during that fight scene. Just prior to that she even had Osha say something like “My mother could do that. “
At the same time you just knew she wasn’t going to have the mother turn out so evil.

They aren't smart enough to think of any of that. They are surface-level thinkers, at best.

quote:But then there would be an investigation into all the missing Jedi
They can currently make a very very loose argument that Ki Adi Mundi technically doesn't know there is a Sith yet. So, basically everyone that has run into him and heard him refer to him as a Sith gets killed and no report ever gets back to him that he was a Sith, then it technically wouldn't break canon, from a certain point of view.

I dont think this guy is actually a sith.
I think at the end of this the Jedi are going to write this off as a one off dark sided force user. KAM is being interjected here because he was a hard denier in the prequels and represents the Order’s willingness to turn a blind eye or unwillingness to accept the truth.

This show has the depth and complexity of an episode of Sesame Street. Everything is so on the nose and face value.
Pretty much every fan theory to date has been more interesting than the episodes.
And can I add. . .the fricking dialog man. . . .Jesus.
they should hire a Kevin Smith-type to JUST do dialog (say what you want about the man, he is great at dialog). Nobody they have has been up to the task

I think you’re wrong.

"Its not that bad" was my first post in this thread before I was accused and turned into a whipping post for the woke movement. The need to spit venom at the woke movement caused several people's brains to stop working in all things related to this show.
