Like how senator palpatine was Sidious. The audience knew even if the characters didn’t.

it was an episode 5 reveal
like I said I am still not sure what the mystery here is. I guess it’s what did the jedi do to the witches coven.

Ive mentioned that it might have been a rogue dark force user. Probably using the Sith name as a ploy, hell the guy didn't even give himself a Darth title. Which makes me think he's using Pre-Bane Sith idealogy.
I too am not sure we are dealing with a Sith. Qimir’s reveal to me was a imilar to Ventress cutting into the Clone Wars and saying “I Am Sith.”
He may be an apprentice of Tenebrous or even a potential apprentice of Tenebrous, and think he is a Sith, or he may be some dark side adept that has taken on Sith ideology with no type of lineage.
All that said… seeing cortosis in live action was cool.

I know it isn’t canon anymore, but the Darth Plagueis novel could support this.
*SPOILER for the Darth Plagueis book*
Even when Darth Plagueis was the apprentice of Darth Tenebrous, Tenebrous looked to replace Plagueis. There were a number of candidates for his new apprentice.
I doubt Disney would explore this storyline, but it could fit with where things currently stand with the story of the “Sith” in the Acolyte.

kicks Mae's (who has been killing jedi masters) arse and holds her own against the sith lord.
Mae has only killed Indara in a fight. And she didn’t defeat Indara with her combat skills, but by distracting her with threatening a civilian.
A well trained older Padawan should be able to hold his/her own in a duel for a short time. She’s been training since she was a toddler, after all. Obi Wan defeats a full blown Sith apprentice as a Padawan. Anakin has a decently sustained fight against Dooku as one prior to his arm getting cut off. Ahsoka also takes on Maul as a 17 year old…
and Jecki here puts up a good fight but she loses and dies. If Qimir weren’t also distracted by trying to kill Mae, he’d probably have finished her sooner.

Just like Anakin becoming Vader
This was "supposed" to be a big reveal.

oh yeah the sith always seem to be auditioning new apprentices.
1. they don’t want their apprentice to get too powerful, 2 they don’t care about them so if there is someone better why not.
Palpatine started talking to Anakin while he had Dooku and was trying to get Luke on board to replace Vader.

nah,
Taking off the dreads served the plot (she’s trying to look like Osha) and given that she was doing it with a lightsaber it makes sense for it to be kinda awkward.
Now you don’t have to love that but it has more justification than the “power of maaaaaaany” chant
which is unnecessary and dumb.

I liked his character in this, kinda cracked up thinking his muscular arms reminded me of Triangle Head from Silent Hill or a Final Fantasy Protagonist.
his arms, his outfit the way he holds his arm straight out. I wouldn’t be shocked if he outright based some of it on him.

Strictly looking at the movies, and without reading the credits, it isn’t that clear from seeing the Original Trilogy.
He isn’t named Emperor Palpatine in the originals, only “The Emperor.” EU uses his name up until the prequels came out.
The Phantom Menace does more than enough to tell you “He’s the guy.” That Qui Gon Funeral scene basically throws it in your face. And by the time of Attack of the Clones its pretty clear what he’s doing.

The thing is the audience knew and movies can’t pretend the audience doesn’t exist. They should’ve done a better job of hiding who he was. Just do what they did with Padme and use a double to mask his true identity.

Lmfao are you really this slow? You know that SJWs cut their hair short to appear “non-binary”, right? You think that didn’t play a factor here?

Everything they have done so far has been obvious and predictable to the point of boredom.
Trust me, there has been zero thought put into anything they have done. . .
Like 4 people on the TPM council were canonically alive for this era. . .they manage to pick a guy that can be tenably argued against?
Was it to antagonize the fans? No. They didn't know, and his big head was memorable so they picked him.
That is the level of skill and ability behind the scenes of this show

I’ll play devils advocate here. Ki-Adi-Mundi is a known womanizer in the actual SW cannon so did they choose him to intentionally break cannon knowing it may make other showrunners stay away from using the character again?
