Mae and Osha have been good.

Sol has been the only one with halfway decent chops. Dafne Keen can act but she has looked like a stiff board. And she came out and said that Lesi wanted her to act really really awkward and didnt understand why.

Yea the show is trash, I’m not sure I’ll finish it or maybe I’ll just watch the final episode. I see people praising Ep5 but I thought it was just like the others. The fight made no sense, the armor and light saber defenses are retarded and of course everyone is always making completely nonsensical and insane decisions. This Ep was another steaming pile.

Manny Jacinto has been really good. He was great in this last episode but I also really liked him in episode 2. He turns the switch from sleazy to scary so well when he lets Osha know that he knows she isn’t Mae.

I think a lot of the young jedi are acting like people who have spent their whole life being told to control their emotions.

Also, as previously stated, the show was a 2.9 BEFORE ANYONE COULD WATCH IT.

then how do you explain it not just being a 1.0

I remember when BvS came out all the Marvel and Disney fanboys were adamant review bombing didn't exist. Now that Disney has declared open warfare on their own fan bases, it's practically a tenet of religious faith within Disney that all the negative reviews and numbers are a well-orchestrated campaign of review bombing.

as bad as episode 3 was Episode 5 was awesome.

5 was better than 1-4, sure

But the choreography was just kinda ok (shills really oversold it, tbh), and people just kept doing completely ridiculous stuff

I mean, the acting has been subpar, with a single exception, but the writing, directing, and camerawork in this episode are as bad as any other episode

The fact that there was less dialog and more lightsaber fighting is the only saving grace.

And also, something happened. . .on-screen. . .that tracked sort of logically.

I dont agree with that. This is some of the best fight choreography in the franchise. I think disney lightsaber fights have been weak as shite to this point.

I disagree and went into detail some of the scenes Jacinto had done that I liked. I think he was awesome. The way he pushed Sol to anger was great.

I thought that until I did a re-watch

If you liked it, don't do that. Trust me.

He sounds like a guy that is reading off of cue cards to me.

Sol sold the emotion of those scenes, as usual.

I know this is a matter of opinion but I thought ehen he looked at sol and just casually dropped “you brought her here” it was stone cold.

The deliver just had an insane level of arrogance that was perfect.

Because there is review boosting as well. Just less of it than the bombing.

I agree. We just haven't seen much of him. Sol is by far and away the best character. Osha doesn't have any defining characteristics to make her stand out other than she's Mae's sister. Her choosing to go back and help Jecki, Sol and Mae instead of going to the ship is the first decision she's actually made in this show...

and that didn't happen until episode 5. If you have a main character that's just along for the journey, almost forced to be there, it almost always ends up in piss poor characterization and an even worse story. Why does LOTR work? Because Frodo CHOSE to take the ring to destroy it. Why does the original Star Wars work? Because Luke CHOSE to go with Obi-Wan rather than stay on Tattooine and take care of his Aunt and Uncle's farm after they died. Why does The Bear work? Because Carmy CHOSE to go back and run the restaurant instead of just selling it. Your main characters should be pushing the plot by making right and wrong choices while keeping the character and their motivations at the forefront. This show hasn't done that except with Mae, which is why she's a vastly superior character to Osha in every way. The wife and I roll our eyes every time Osha (or really just anyone other than Mae, Qmir and Sol) are on screen.

Watching Jecki and Yord die was cool and the right choice by the showrunners but guess what? It should have had WAY more of an impact. But it didn't because Disney is so fricking worried about keeping these shows under 30 minutes so there's no time to develop characters, just plot. The audience can't develop an attachment to Yord or Jecki just because they're on screen. They have to be dynamic, interesting or just be able to stand out as distinct people. But they weren't. Episode 5 was cool and a step in the right direction but the show has fundamental writing flaws that impact everything else: acting, directing, story.

You’re right.

up to this point Osha has been firmly stuck in thr “Refusing the Call to Adventure” portion of the Hero’s Journey.

Last week I really wanted to see the fight with the sith. I was like this will either make or break this show.

Now I an actually looking forward to what the Stranger has to say. We are going to get a lot of time with him and Osha.

What more proof do you need than people reviewing an episode before it airs?
