And that’s what we’re seeing in the show. Why does it upset you now?

What we are seeing in the show are Jedi that are reckless and make decisions based on emotion. Again, in the past Jedi have always been faced with challenges but they were able to overcome those with an exception here and there. In this show they could care less and let emotion to guide them. Something that is against canon especially during the High Republic.

I have only expressed disappointment in the show I have yet to express any anger or be upset. Why do people jump to conclusions on another person outlook to make it fit their narrative?

He does not ruin them he is just a poor representation of how the Jedi have been defined throughout canon and the EU.

It is how they were originally presented but Disney has done a poor job of making them the saviors of the universe for everyone to respect.

Maybe the Path of the Open hand was correct and saw the Jedi for what they really were.

I am not saying that. You seem to come along for SW after Disney took it over. So views on the material will differ from those that knew the material long before Disney was involved. Views will always be different.

No i’ve been a fan for 34 years. I just am
not an EU guy. I also am
not a prequels guy and I literally lose my mind watching people bend over backwards to defend them.

The difference for me is this show makes the Jedi express emotions as if normal and expected of the Jedi. The foundation of the plot line is these Jedi have emotion and do not try to overcome it.

idk. i think we’re seeing them failing in real time. It’s like if you made a show about an alcoholic in a relapse bender. does that mean that character never tries to stay sober? No, but they are actively failing in this snippet we see.

That would go against the Jedi in principle. As they aged in the Order, they would learn to deal those emotions and let go. If not, they would no longer be in the order and definitely not be allowed to become a Master.

Maybe since this is the period they are at their height we are starting to see their arrogance come into play overall for the Order. They seem to think they are in control and ignoring what is really going on around them.

Scrap that idea, give us a Luthen and Saw origin story.

In all honesty the EU came into existence because Lucas what not sure how to advance the story. I do not think he expected the legacy he created.

Lucas basically allowed the EU to answer questions the OT did not. Hence why so many are frustrated with Disney Star Wars. Lucas still has control over that material and could use it if Disney was willing to share profits.

I am not a huge fan of those, but I do appreciate the different view it brings on the SW Universe. For example, my first watch was ANH in the theater. My introduction to Vader was him as an evil villain. But my children saw the movies in order. So, their idea of Vader was different. They watched him as an innocent child. Someone they could relate to. They saw him lose his mother and as he got older, they sympathized for Anakin. Their relationship to Vader had them view him as a hero.

I much prefer the redemption arc I saw in the OT but for them I do not believe they ever saw him as evil. After ANH came out, I like many other kids dressed up for Halloween as Luke but my kids once he became Vader dressed as Vader for their costumed.

This would be interesting.

For me give me Darh Maul. His story arc outside of Fett's who Disney botched is one of the best in the SW universe.

I just clicked the #RenewTheAcolyte tag. seems to consist entirely of people saying it should not only be cancelled, but also memory-holed.

What if Tenebrous is the Sith Lord in the finale? I know it’s stupid but Headland has said recently this show will connect directly to Plageis as I predicted after ep3.

My opinion remains that this show was pretty good. Finale should be excellent. There is ample material for a 2nd season. The Disney killed Star Wars narrative is stale and needs to be retired.
