The way these kids are enjoying life in these theaters...they are going to go see it again, and again, and again.

I have no problem with TSwift. Think of all the whores who have come before her.

much like the Barbie hype, i'm a 40 year old dude and don't get the insanity behind the Eras tour, but i understand it's not made for me or my two teenage sons.

that being said, plenty of friends of mine spent 1000s of dollars for tickets and plenty had 2-3 girls and said there was no way they could afford something like that for a one night event.

i do think the movie is a nice way to make the experience affordable to the masses and be a part of some sort of "cultural moment" no matter how stupid i think it is.

It wouldn't shock me to see her clear $150M on the streaming rights alone.

Have you ever seen what the Friends gang or the Big Bang cast get on streaming rights?

mid-tier singer and performer.

Agreed that she's a mid-tier singer but as a performer she has almost no peer.

I am going to be honest. I went with the GF because she is a swiftie. Her job is rather rigid, so I really like moments when she can loosen up a bit. So taking her to see the movie was a no brainer. Personally I thought it was awesome, very well done. Since we didnt go on opening weekend the theater was pretty open so it was fun to be able to sit and watch or stand if people there wanted to.

my overall thought was that regardless of liking Taylor, or not liking Taylor...Why havent we been putting concerts in movie theaters for years? Obviously its not the same but it was a fantastic idea that should have been done before.

the stones, prince, GNR...etc all would have been awesome in this form

The group that was next to us was this situation. The daughter wanted to go but tickets were crazy. They had a blast

It's been done, but outside maybe the Beatles, it hasn't really worked that well. It needs the teenage girl/ buddy mom and friends factor. Guys go to the shows. Girls are the ones that eat the hype in any form it comes in.

interesting. i didnt realize that. I thought this was kind of a new thing

I will say I never forget I was in Vienna summer of 2017. At their capitol, they had a giant projector and market. They did a different famous concert everynight. It seemed like something that people really liked

God bless her but I have no idea why she is so popular.

She does 80s style pop music in this era of crappy pop music. And writes a lot of it herself.

She found a goldmine with that, and by switching from country years ago…and she knows how to mine it.

o the high numbers don't actually tell you if it's she puts on a good show.

Have you seen videos of her show? She definitely puts on a good show. There's a reason this tour is so popular, it's not just because of her music, it's because it's a spectacle. Hence it being a good enough show for just a recording of it can bring in over 100 million at the theatres. It is crazy to think otherwise.

for a movie ticket?

This is a film, at a movie theater.

And if Beyonce's film doesnt out gross this, then every woman in America is a racist.

Also dont recall anyone bashing someone for going to the talking heads concert movie. that came out 40 years ago.

It's also because you can see different angles with the movie. At the concert, we had the cheap seats. We really enjoyed the show, but we couldn't see everything on the stage and the close ups and different views were really nice in the movie. The show isn't a normal concert at all. It's a Vegas level production with many costume changes, moving parts, videos, etc. It's more similar to a Vegas show than a concert.

I agree but so is college football. 80,000 people yelling "Suck that tiger dick bitch"

or "GAMEEEE.....COCKS"

or " SIC EM WOOF WOOF WOOF"

or whatever the frick A&M does.

its all a cult, and all what we pay $ into. Some people identify her and like her..thats fine
