EXCLUSIVE: We hear that James Gunn has found his Lex Luthor in British actor Nicholas Hoult, several sources tell us.
A movie star was always eyed for this role after Gunn selected fresh face David Corenswet in the title role, and Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Skyler Gisondo Gisondo, known for his work on HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, has been cast as Jimmy Olsen, the boyish cub photographer at The Daily Planet who works alongside Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
At the same time, Sara Sampaio, the Portugese model known for her Victoria’s Secret work, has been cast as Eve Teschmacher, the assistant and sometimes mistress to the scheming villain Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult).

It was just a matter of time before Hoult got one of these roles as often he’s in discussions for them. Great actor for sure. Hopefully is portrayal is more like Rosenbaum and less like Eisenberg

Hoult is a very good actor. He should do well.

If Croenswet can nail it, this cast is shaping up very nicely

Like Nick Hoult, but I don't see him as Lex Luther.
*sigh*

He absolutely has the range to do so.

I really hope they give him a better interpretation of Superman than they gave Henry Cavill. Cavill did the best he could with the garbage personality they gave him. He deserved better.

Agreed.
I like a hopeful version of Superman, not an angsty version. If I want angsty, I'll watch Batman.
Zack Snyder basically made Superman into a super-powered Batman.

It seems like it. If only DC Studios / WB does get in their own way and screw it up

Eisenberg’s luthor was so fricking weird. it was like a bad Joker without the makeup.
he was 1000x more Luthor-ish in The Social Network.

Seems like a decent casting, but I'm still amazed at Hollywood's seeming refusal to hire redheads to depict established redheads. I used to think this was just a female thing but I guess now they're extending it to guys too.
ETA: If he's bald the whole time I guess it doesn't matter.
