Just as no one gives a frick about Hawkgirl and Terrific yet Gunn insisted on shoving those frickheads down our throats
I thought Mr Terrific was pretty cool. Hawkgiirl was a terrible character. Merced is such a likeable actress but she was wasted in Superman

Gunn is an absolute moron
He specifically said he isn’t going to make something without a great script.
+1 and he's hired this same writer for Wonder Woman. Just stupid

DC Studios co-chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have already met with Paramount Skydance chairman and CEO David Ellison amid the ongoing proposed merger between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Skydance.
At the Brooklyn blue carpet premiere of Supergirl on Monday night, executive producer Lars P. Winther confirmed that Ellison has already been to Atlanta, where Man of Tomorrow, the follow-up to 2025’s Superman, is currently in production. “He came to Trilith [Studios] already. That’s where we shoot all our movies that James directs,” Winther told The Hollywood Reporter. “He came to Atlanta, we showed him everything, and we’re having discussions with him.”

DC Studios. According to Winther, Ellison is currently interested in the duo’s work and slate, which, when announced in 2023, included 10 titles. “He’s pretty open to what we’re doing. We do have a slate and a lot of it — obviously, Clayface is already coming out. We already have the Lanterns TV show. On those things, the train’s left the station. So we’re good. But he’s a big fan, he’s been great with us. He’s giving us kind of what we want. So far, everything’s good.”
“Supergirl we shot in London. Clayface was in London. We started shooting Batman 2 about a week and a half ago in London,” the EP said. “Man of Tomorrow, which is what we’re shooting now, [Alcock] is in that movie. Without giving too much away, this movie ends a particular way, and you see where she’s going to end up. She’s done her wild ways, and now she’s going to try to get back in with her cousin and be more on Earth again. That’s where she is in Man of Tomorrow. It’s all more Earth-based. So we have Man of Tomorrow, and we already know what the next movie’s going to be after that, and she’s a big part of that.”

He’ll probably want to see how MOT turns out before making any real decisions
Posted on 6/23/26 at 2:00 pm to Proximo
They have a lot in the pipeline so he'll likely let them finish some of it. I agree that MOT will likely be the deciding factor. It better be huge

the worst choice was mixing Gunn with Superman
Just a terrible decision.

I said it in the other thread: this young lady couldn’t be doing a better job of sabotaging this film if she were making a concerted effort to do so.
I'm beginning to wonder if she had a bet with Rachel Zegler on who could tank their movie the hardest and still get paid for it.

She never said that, she said she doesn't care for comments attacking her looks by trolls or dudes who claim to be Christian.
Pretty obvious she's shitting on people who merely claim to be Christian but don't actually act like it

Or, hear me out, she just created a strawman so she could make a snarky comment about "Christian dads" like she wanted all along.

Why alienate a fanbase, any fanbase?
Even if she felt it right. . .the result is a controversial statement that alienates far more than she may have intended
Every statement like this costs the studio money. Even if it were objectively justified, which it likely wasn't, there is nothing to gain and much to lose
She is a dumb naive theater kid learning a harsh lesson in "the media are NOT your friends"

“If you’re pissing the right people off you’re doing something right” right after “Christian dads” coming out of her mouth. She kind of did

This is the point. Do not attack the fricking fans.
If you can’t handle seeing DM’s from online trolls you’re in the wrong business
And if I’m David Ellison I threaten the studio heads with their compensation or jobs if they can’t get these activist actors in line. If it’s something political, whatever. But if you attack the fans calling them toxic, or alienate Christian dads when they’re the bulk of your audience, you’re out

The embargo lifts today. I think reviews are going to be brutal

This isn't even a Hollywood or celebrity related rule. This is the number one rule of all business.
"The customer is always right" is the saying on the small business wall. Because that's how you treat the customer. Even when you as an employee are faced with an unreasonable customer.
You are polite to them and appreciative of their business. That's the way you as the cashier, the waiter, the cook, the pharmacist, the manager, or the owner are supposed to behave.
You don't fight with the morons on Nextdoor, Google reviews, Facebook, Twitter, or the local news. Everything tends to fall apart when you focus on arguing with the customer instead of serving every customer you can.

She trying to promote a movie.
She doesn’t need to be shitting on ANYBODY. It’s poor salesmanship.

The thing I’m most pissed off about is Gunn doubling down on Jor-El being this evil conqueror that Gunn made up in his tiny brain.
Say what you want about MOS, but we had an awesome Krypton sequence / Jor-El story for Superman on film already and it seems to me he just wanted to undermine it.
That coupled with her comments, and the movie reportedly being boring as hell, I’m cancelling my tickets tonight. It’ll be interesting to see the BO numbers Sunday

These types of characters/movies I’m fine with just waiting for streaming to judge.

Right, Supergirl as the second wide release in a rebooted universe was a mistake

Yeah, that’s straight up retardation.
From the very beginning - Siegel/Shuster, 1938 - it’s never been implied that Jor-El’s motives were ever anything other than altruistic. Now this happy horseshite.
