If anyone needed MORE proof that James Gunn was the worst choice to make Superman AND run the entire DCU revival. Absolutely awful.

TBF, they still have Lanterns, Clayface, The Batman 2, and MOT. If those succeed, no one will remember this disaster.

I wouldn’t say Batman 2 has anything to do with Gunn, really. It was successful in the prior regime

I get your point, but it still falls under the umbrella of the DCU. Gunn greenlit the project. He could've canceled it if he really wanted to.

There isn’t the same epic feel or message to this new DC.

Yep. There’s nothing that feels special about this DCU. Really have no desire to see the rest of the universe if it’s just going to be more camp and mythos leveling from Gunn. Glad to see him taking it on the chin in the reviews because he couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

Also Supergirl is the Spring Football of the comic world. The character doesn’t work on her own in movies for a reason.

I'm not a comic book guy, but I love superheros. Had all the action figures as a kid, seen all the movies.

I didn't know supergirl was actually a real thing until the last Superman movie and I read on here that she was in comics (also same for the dog)

And I had superman sheets and comforter on my bed for like 3 years as a kid

The problem with Gunn is, he doesn’t do the hopeful heroic character very well. He doesn’t get it, doesn’t believe in it, which is why he’s the worst possible person to be in charge of anything Superman.

And before you say “that’s just one character“ he’s a pretty big character. Part of the three major legs of the DC table along with Batman, and Wonder Woman.

One of which was already done for him and we have yet to see the other.

A positive for who? When you have Grace Randolph, and Variety dunking on your Supergirl movie, that’s not a good sign.

How embarrassing for the OP to post those paid reviews from those unemployed influencers. Before their reviews they should have to post how much they get paid to write those fake reviews.

I can’t wait till this DEI movie bombs

I’ve heard theories that this is Gunn projecting his own daddy issues onto the screen.

He literally makes it all about himself so I don’t know why this wouldn’t be a legit theory.

What they did to Jor-El is the equivalent of Bruce Wayne discovering that his parents actually committed suicide instead being murdered. At least Bruce can say he makes his own choices!

It’s a shame because I think the got the casting right for the most part. It’s just all wasted on piss poor writing and egotistical directing.

Chick writer had 1 credit before this movie. A short back in 2018.

It’s been rewritten over a half a dozen times so that means she isn’t the writer. Tom King jumped ship, I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.

The villain is supposed to be boring, he was in the comic. Kara’s story and the visual spectacle of the different worlds Kara and Ruthye explore make up for it.
