I liked Romulus. The young actors didn't totally annoy me like most do these days. The sets and FX were pretty good too

It’s worth watching. A return to the claustrophobic horror of Alien, but with some questionable deepfake usage. They confirmed a direct sequel and the director, Fede Alvarez, is currently working on the script.

1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Prometheus (Masterpiece. It’s okay if you disagree. Some people saw Jesus’ miracles and still didn’t believe him)
4. Romulus
5. Alien 3
6. Alien Resurrection
7. Covenant

Prometheus was entertaining, heard good things about Romulus.

Yeah I plan to, just wasn't making it to theaters for it. But I will watch it once it hits streaming for sure.

The 1st two are so superior and well made, it's not even a contest. Everything else that comes after is overpriced fanfic with some occasional well shot scenes.

The stories are crap.

I consider Aliens to be the second best sequel of all time behind Empire Strikes Back.

i am on team 3 isn't bad. It is more of a sequel to Alien than Aliens

it is frustrating to think what 3 would have been if they trusted Finicher.

In timeline order, you should watch:
- Prometheus
- Alien: Covenamt
- Alien
- Alien: Romulus
- Aliens

stop there.

Agree with this, but I would just go ahead and watch Alien 3 and Resurrection just to finish it off.

I liked Prometheus if you look past the plot holes and enjoy it for what it is.

Covenant is just bad. I rewatched it recently and forgot just how bad it gets for about an hour. The end is good and traditional Alien, but the whole second act is just bad.

Alien and Aliens are just awesome.

Romulus was better than I expected it to be.

I’d like to do a rewatch of the movies before watching Romulus. I haven’t seen alien or aliens in well over ten years. Not sure if I’ve ever seen 3, or any of the others until Prometheus and covenant. My question is are there any I can skip before watching Romulus?

Watched Alien last week and started Aliens tonight. How are they?

Stop after those two.

Alien is a great sci fi horror film.

Aliens is a great sci fi action film.

No one has quite figured out how to make a good anything out of the rest of it.

I love the first three.

1 and 2 are two of my all time favorite movies. And 3 is underrated in my opinion.

Alien - truly the greatest slow burn of all time

Aliens - different genre, arguably not even canon to the series. Fun but way less fun if you weren't an 8th grade boy the first time you saw it

Alien 3 - pretty damned good

Resurrection - the only outright bad one (still a couple of fun elements)

Prometheus - truly great

Covenant - don't remember, must not be that great

new one - haven't seen it

I only watched Alien all the way through. Started the second yesterday,

First was pretty good but not great. The quality wasn’t what I was expecting

Alien is a masterpiece. An all time favorite of mine.

Aliens is good but very different.

All the others were money grabs and un-memorable.

Terminator is definitely a horror movie, like Alien.

T2 is like Aliens in that it adds "Action" to the mix, but isn't nearly as "horror" as Aliens. T2, aside from a few moments, is definitively an "action" movie, while Aliens is practically the definition of "action horror".

I think 3's biggest problem is completely undoing the ending of Aliens. It's not like when they transition from Alien to Aliens - Ripley got home, she CHOSE to go back out there with the Colonial Marines.

3, OTOH, just straight up kills Newt and Hicks, and then has a brief moment with what's left of Bishop. They pretty much ripped away the agency of the characters for the sake of a semi-copy of the plot of Alien (unarmed people facing a tiny number of xenomorphs as opposed to a group of armed people fighting an entire colony of them).

How was quality short of your expectations? Just curious.
