They are going out of their way to avoid including Cal Kestis, Cere Junda, and Sister Merrin.

You sure about that?

The Witches of Dathomir first appeared in the 1994 novel, The Courtship of Princess Leia by Dave Wolverton. Wolverton was a prominent contributor to the Extended Universe through the 90s and early 2000s; he passed away in January 2022. His original story had the witches originating on the penal colony world of Dathomir.

I had no idea, but will have to check it out.

the idea of force witches riding Rancor's was always cool to me.

the pre Disney retcon of the EU, the Courtship of Princess Leia was a good read

The more Vader is shown the less mystique he has. They just throw him out everywhere now.

On top of the fact that Disney did away with him being the Chosen One. Ya know, the entire central theme of Star Wars

Would prefer more focus on Baris and the Inquisitors than Elsbeth, but it still looks like enjoyable.

Same.

I'll watch this. I hope it's great.

Hollywood truly believes they can just speak reality into existence
I think I agree with this. They think because they can lie to people and get them to buy products, approve political changes, etc. they can do literal magic. It's not magic. It's just lies.

Radical feminist lesbians etc. used metoo and timesupp to bully, blackmail and otherwise force male moguls out of Hollywood, and this is the scatterbrained, comically bad result.

People are just going to have to start new studios and let these ones die.

star wars is a trash IP now and nothing from it is good anymore. at least from a tv/movie perspective.

That’s completely false. Be honest, you haven’t watched anything since they shite out the trifecta of dookie (episode 8, Solo, episode 9) and just assume everything is trash because that’s the low hanging fruit comment.

And I’m no Disney apologist and will call them out on their misses.

It looks entertaining enough, but why are they so desperate for Morgan Elsbeth to be a thing? We already know how her story ends.

Other agendas aside, this has been a complaint I've had about Star Wars stuff for awhile.

It started out innocently enough; you had the OT, and then Lucas chose to make the prequels to fill in the lore, instead of sequels to keep the story moving. I disliked that approach, because there was never any doubt that Obi Wan or Anakin would survive, or that the Republic would win the Clone Wars, or that the Republic would avoid becoming the Empire under the control of the Sith. And if you had characters you DIDN'T know from the OT, odds were very high that they were going to die off- because where the frick were they in the OT?
But I suppose Lucas also felt he had completed the story with ROTJ, and there wasn't much point of continuing on with things.

But Disney's approach has been even worse, in that they:
a) hopped ahead 40 something years, and
b) then made series 5-odd years after the OT, and
c) also made a few shows/movies between the prequels and OT.

I really dislike that. I mean, I enjoy The Mandalorian, but they've introduced Grogu, who has made zero appearance in the sequels. So, he's either dead or ineffective. In both cases, it's really preferable to not see him at all, because if you liked him, it's a huge disappointment to know he failed (just like the direction the sequels took highlighted that Luke, Leia and Han failed too). So what's the fricking point?

We (I, at least) want heroes, not the deconstruction of them.

This would be fine if Lucasfilm had any clue how to write a story not centered on critical gender theory.

They simply cannot write a bigger story with men and women or other creatures in it. It MUST be about modern issues like abortion and open borders and climate change and feminism BS.

Once you see it you can't unsee it. There's subtle signs of it everywhere, from scene to scene, who gets the most lines, who is in the center of the poster, does the female act subservient to the male in any way? Could it even be mistakenly perceived as subservient?

This is how you get terrible writing with super bland female characters that are not relatable at all. Feminity is naturally fairer/weaker than a masculine presence. Disney is out to tell you that's not true and everyone is just a widget to mold into whatever they want to be...i.e. transgenderism.

It's pure cult-insanity. The fact that Disney let's it come out on the big screen shows you how bad the cult really is.
It's ugly and void of heart and soul. It's pure nihilistic nonsense.

Maybe this is all deliberate. Sometimes I wonder.

To be fair, Mando seasons 1&2 were good before S3 went to shite. The Andor series was solid as was Clone Wars S7 and Tales of the Jedi.

Disney Star Wars shits the bed a lot but they do put out solid content when Filoni is involved
