Star Trek SNW: The Puppet Episode Finally Dropped. What a hot mess

This is probably the worst Star Trek Episode I've ever watched. This was stupid and a waste of an episode. This entire season of SNW is one gimmick after another.

They really leaned in hard after they did a good job with the Lower Decks colab?

It was tolerable until the attack scene, and it went downhill from there. Probably the first time I heard GD on anything Star Trek and it comes out of a puppets mouth.

Maybe next they can have one of them jump over a shark on water skis and wearing a leather jacket. Might as well

I’ve been watching Star Trek since the 1970’s. This is hands-down the single worst episode of Star Trek I have ever seen.
Don’t even watch it for camp value. It’s not worth your time, regardless of intent.
This is a show whose priorities are all wrong right now. I don’t know what audience they are trying to please. Who are the people who like shite like this?

It was a mess, but Academy was even worse and a second season of that mess is still coming.

So a handful of posters who take up 90% of the movie board threads?

They metaphorically did this in 2009.
I literally haven't watched anything from the brand since. This was about the best regarded as a consensus, even from cynical assholes like me - until late.
#RIPStarTrek
It was a pretty good 42 years.

I thought they canceled it?

It’s horrible.
When I first read the description I was hoping “turned into puppets” was about being controlled by something, but I knew with this show it was more likely to be toy puppets.

It was canceled but season 2 was guaranteed from the start.

Nothing on TV is new anymore.
2nd time Kurtzman Trek has stolen an idea from a Joss Whedon show.

How frustrating it is to be a person that enjoys Star Trek.
The first episode of this season was good. The black and white one was good, even though there were wayyy too many coincidences to make the story go.
This shite cannot be being made by anyone that cares for Star Trek.

I’m also disappointed by the many Star Trek fans in online forums and social media who actually LIKED this episode.
If I wasn’t convinced that there was a subset of people who are entertained by virtually anything, I am now. Who are the people who like this episode? I went looking for them and actually found them.
Morons.

Funny how the same pattern keeps repeating. Doctor Who, Star Wars, the Witcher, Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, Willow, and even more current day Marvel projects like Daredevil.
All objectively very popular IPs, but purposely neutered and subverted for the modern day audience. You can’t convince me this isn’t done with intent. They want to make their money off of existing properties while at the same time destroying those same properties.
Every single time.

The season started off great, episode 1 was good with them traveling back in time to when Martians were on Mars and earth had dinosaurs, then episode 2 had a cool horror movie vibe to it, probally was one of the scariest Star Trek episodes ever. Then episode 3 dropped down several levels with the crew taking shore-leave on a "party planet" with its intocating atmosphere. Episode 3 havd it's moments but ended up being the typical "lets make a funny episode" that missed the mark. But these last two episoded have been utter garbage and the puppet shite was all in spocks head.

You know, I went to the Star Trek con in Vegas. They had a panel on starfleet academy and it was quite sparsely attended. No shock there as the show is terrible, but what was shocking was the approach by the actors. When asked by fans if they had seen Star Trek once getting the role, the actors glibly responded “I scanned a few episodes, sure” or when asked about the making of certain episodes the actors responded “we were kind of winging it with scene to scene”…
Contrast that to DS9 and TNG and Voyager, and every line was meticulously adhered to. There was no ad libbing. There was no improv. The creators’ vision was paramount and cared for, nurtured like a baby fern.
So after hearing the responses from the actors…well I’m not surprised the Kurtzman era of trek was so bad. Thankfully it was equally shunned by fans as well.

The only thing I could come up with that didn’t suck in this episode was the female alien captain had a sexy voice
