And as pointed out by others. Why is Holly Hunter wearing glasses? Nobody wears glasses. All eye issues have been cured other than total blindness like Laforge had. And given all of the things they have cured, I always had a problem with them unable to replace Geordi's eyes.

Who is their actual target market? 2 fat women and and old chick in glasses. And I like Holly Hunter but not enough to even contemplate watching this pile of "modern audience" trash.

Effeminate gay black men. And their two AWFL allies.

In other words, the modern audience

Eventually, they did.(Picard, Season 3) And knowing that is what makes her wearing glasses 1000 years IN THE FUTURE after that makes absolutely zero sense.

They're NOT Star Trek fans. They don't care.

I thought Strange New Worlds had some really good episodes.

shite like this is why I scoff at anyone who honestly thinks that Paramount buying Warner Bros was the better alternative. ALL OF THEM are trash. They’re nothing like the companies they once were 20-30 years ago.

So the first appearance of properly visorless Geordi was actually TNG ("All Good Things" - both episodes). But that was an alternate timeline in the farther future. The more modern base-timeline appearance comes in the film First Contact.

The glasses are a clear attempt to draw a connection to Kirk, who wore them in Wrath of Khan . A gift from Bones because Kirk was allergic to Retinax A. (As was Jean Luc Picard, per Picard showrunner Terry Matalas) )

Only this is approx 1000 yrs after that.

Eyeglasses were a relic in the 23rd century, so they’d be even more so in the 32nd.

SNW was fantastic. It balanced the line of throwing a 'box checker' in there as a character or storyline, but still staying awesome. It's easily in my top 2 star trek series.

This new show looks like steaming shite.

I have no idea who they are aiming that at now. No Star Trek fans are gonna watch that shite

Plus, not young woke people are going to watch it.

Star Trek has ALWAYS been woke. We just didnt know or care. Looks like they have outdone themselves.

Star Trek, going back as far as TOS, has always been somewhat woke.

This looks like it takes that to a whole new level.

Can you imagine going back in time with this poster, and showing it to Deforest Kelly and James Doohan in a bar after they just finished shooting an episode of Star Trek? They’d beat the shite out of you.
