Would love to see the Kraven's Last Hunt storyline as part of the stand alone movie

I'm thinking Marvel will do this right and stay as true to the comics as possible.
With that said, I think they cast someone relatively young - they make long-term deals and plans and having a 30-something-year-old Spider-Man after 1 or 2 movies will not work. Just hoping Sony lets Marvel make the calls on who they get and the direction they go with the character.

Needs to be 23-24 IMO. We know that with great power comes great responsibility. We know he was not a popular guy in high school. Not long out of college working for the Bugle needs to be the age range.
Toby was way too nerdy. Peter Parker needs to be somewhat of an outcast, smarter than almost everyone in the room (hold his own with Tony Stark and Bruce Banner), and a bit of a smart arse (Stark again). Guy posted on the previous page actually fits pretty damn well from what I've seen him in. Might look a little too much like Garfield though.

Jack O'Connell wouldn't be a bad choice.

Legit choice. That relatively unknown but up-and-coming actor.

It would be amazing (pun intended) if they could manage to keep the casting secret and only show him in costume prior to the unmasking in Civil War.

If anything, he wasn't nerdy enough. Toby was a really good Peter Parker, and he does awkward nerdy pretty well. I'd like for the new Spidey to be far closer to Toby than Garfield.
He's a nerd, people.

Yeah, I think Dylan O'Brien would be a really good choice. The character he plays on Teen Wolf is kind of nerdy/smart kid who is pretty quick with the quibs. Plus he's 23, which I think is probably about the age the actor needs to be if they sign him to a multi-year deal to cover several movies.

He does smart-arse nerd really well on Teen Wolf and action hero really well in The Maze Runner.

He still has to look young enough, and small enough, that the Avengers feel like they can control him. The thing that is going to hurt Civil War the most in my opinion, is that there is not a character in the MCU that can pull off that scene
Cap? - nah, he doesn't really have a secret identity in the MCU
Iron Man? - yeah... not a chance, everyone already knows
Thor? - Nah
Spider-Man? - I mean, it could basically be only Spider-Man, but we don't have any history on him to this point
At this point I'm honestly hoping for a fairly big diversion from the source material of Civil War, not enough to make it bad, but just enough to make it completely different - if that makes sense?

He was a nerd in high school, after that, not so much. Has been referred to many times as a late bloomer in even classic Spider comics. What he suffers from is the "Parker Luck".
Garfield is by far the better Spider-Man and Peter.
Tobey didn't get it

I get what you're saying. It's not like we want to see them follow up Spidey's Civil War appearance with a "One More Day" movie.

I think the Civil War movie will focus less on the secret identities, and more one the government registration/control acts of some sort. Like you said, there really isn't any "secret identities" in the MCU at this point.

Logan Lerman aka Percy Jackson for Spider-Man?
Posted on 2/10/15 at 12:47 pm to Green Chili Tiger
I wouldn't be opposed to a post college and married Peter. Maybe they introduce him by having him being assigned to do an interview with Tony for the Bugle or interning at Stark Industries.

That's why O'Connell is perfect for the role. He's 24 right now. He's on the smaller side. He's already shown he's got some pretty good chops. The kid from Maze Runner just doesn't look like a Peter Parker to me.

I've heard that name thrown out elsewhere.
