If Sony is smart, they partner with Marvel immediately and do Spiderman 4 and Amazing Spiderman 3. Thanks to the Loki series and NWH, audiences would no longer be confused about different actors playing the same role across different movies.
I don't consider myself nostalgic, but this movie just hit me. When Toby came back, I remembered why I started loving comic book movies and got pissed that he was sent out on such a shitty low note. Garfield can act his arse off and deserves another go as Spidey.

I think it'd be great but I can certainly see the public at large start to suffer from "Spiderman fatigue". Would likely diminish what looks to be a very promising next trilogy for Holland's spidey; for that reason I think Marvel would politely decline

I can see Garfield being the "spideyverse" Spiderman and Holland being in the Mcu.
Although the ending of the movie reset things to where the spider verse can be rebooted in the mcu.

I understand that sentiment but disagree. It would be character overload. There are Venom and Avengers and Spiderverse products already pushing that envelope.
If they wanted to do more Garfield Spider-Man they should do cable series. There's a zero sum component to doing too many Spiderman or Batman or Superman reboots too fast in succession and they are teetering on that boundary already

Agreed. It only works if they hit home runs. This new Batman movie is going to flop unless it’s the best Batman movie ever made.

Has it been explained why Venom was brought into universe if Dr. Strange's spell brought those that knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man into this universe?

I had this exact question after watching it, so I searched for it. Apparently there was some line in Venom 2, which I haven’t seen, implying there is a greater symbiote hive mind. Apparently this extends across the universe and across the multiverse? So the symbiote sorta knew, I guess. Which means the symbiote goo will probably specifically seek out Spider-Man.

Also, Venom was the sixth villain to be brought in for the movie, but he just chilled in Mexico, which is kind of awesome.

That's my understanding
Although implicitly it would mean that one of them had to already exist in the Tom Holland Spider-Man universe. And I don't know of any evidence of that.

Well, that, and Venom & Eddie both specifically state that they should go to New York and seek out Spider-Man for answers, right before being sent back to their universe - meaning that the last thought they had before the goo dropped off was to go find Spidey.

SIAP but instead of having everyone forget he was spiderman and who he was could Peter have instead wished that everyone forget who mysterio was or what he told them about Peter Parker being spiderman? I saw this brought up in another discussion and was curious.

Finally went and saw it with the family tonight. I had a good idea of what was going to happen but even as an older guy got emotional when the previous actors showed up. It was great to see them get a proper sendoff with hats off to Andrew Garfield. When he saved MJ his reaction knocked it out of the park and you could hear the response throughout the whole audience.
As a huge Spider-Man fan from the 80s one of the issues with the Holland version for me has been that he is either a sidekick or a screw up and has been presented as a lightweight compared all the other heroes. Spider-Man from my period was very competent and capable - holding his own physically but more often using his intellect to win. . I like the way they use the spell to clear the slate for hopefully this Spider-Man to emerge.
Yeah you could nitpick plot holes or have questions about the spell but really given the fantastic stuff going on the movie manages to hold the line In the story telling pretty well. Also as has been said the banter between three Spider-Man was awesome.
I love Molina as doc occ…they did such a good job bringing him to screen. And Defoe knocked it our of the park.
Also maybe this will send another message to Hollywood that blatant fan service is what we want when you’re dealing with characters that span decades of history. My kids didn’t pick up on some of the callbacks, which is fine, but I did both to the original character and the older movies. That’s what we want to see. I don’t mind reimagining new stories for these characters but reinventing them or desecrating older characters (looking at you Star Wars) isn’t how these movies should be produced. Bravo to the team on this one.
“But really…you’re AMAZING”. That was awesome.

Saw it with the wife for the first time tonight. Loved it thoroughly. I think everything was done incredibly well. I’m interested to see where the venom story line goes.
This is incredibly nit picky but I kinda wish they had a scene where Tobey’s spidey and Jameson crossed paths some way. That would’ve been fun

That’s a good point. I wonder if for the college years, they create a new love interest. This MJ wasn’t Mary Jane Watson. So maybe this Parker’s big love isn’t MJ, but someone else. Maybe Gwen (which I suppose could be a retread of Garfield) or my personal favorite, they introduce Felicia Hardy’s Black Cat.
I hope they actually find a way to bring Peter and MJ back together. Holland and Zendaya have good chemistry, which they should considering they are dating.

I feel like with how loosey goosey they were with the spell rules it should be pretty easy to do at some point

they need an A lister on that team if they're going to do any future avenger movies

Saw it this past weekend. I loved the film, but I'm curious what happens in the Garfield and Tobey universes. Do the Spiderman and villains cross back over to their original timelines with the villains cured and remembering what took place in Holland's universe?
