When Garfield caught Zendaya and was fighting back tears that shite hit hard. I loved him as Spiderman and thought his movies were shite writing. He's a great actor and owned all of this shite.

Saw it tonight. Loved every second. Laughed way more than I thought I would. Andrew and Toby were fantastic. Great way to reset Holland’s Spidey too.
I wonder… with no one from the MCU knowing Peter Parker now, is this a way for Sony to easily break away???

FYI. Electro knowing Spider-Man by name but not necessarily everything else (like race) was explained.

Maybe. But I don’t think Tom will do it without Feige and Disney and I think Sony and Amy Pascal know that. As much as they would love to break away, it’s too beneficial for them.
Their executives might not realize it but Pascal realizes how important Feige/Disney is in getting talented writers and directors, especially the right ones for the right franchises in the MCU. And she also knows how bad Sony is at it. Just look at Venom.
ETA: I think they’ve had a handshake deal in place for a while to do 3 more and just didn’t want to announce it and ruin the stakes of the last movie. Hell, Feige already said they’re working on a 4th in a NYT interview.

Why do people want Spidey to break away from the MCU so much?
Spider-Man is one of those beating hearts of the Marvel Universe. He's critical to so many stories and relatioships. He's been on so many teams, so many lineups, etc.

I did see something interesting about this on TikTok, the spell is “in the world.”
The theory states that there are some characters off world, Fury is the big one, but Captain Marvel, Thor, the Guardians, maybe Monica Rambeau, and whoever else may be off world may remember Peter.
Some think Strange will still know, as well.

I'm confused. I was assured that movies simply don't have box office numbers like they used to because of covid, and not because the movies that flopped at the BO are woke crap.
