I thought it was doing well at the box office?

Two words: Fury Road.
Whenever I hear the now standard bullshite "sexism" excuse, I gladly shove Fury Road up their asses.

Sorry. I’m just not seeing the SJW social media backlash that we had for Girlbusters. No one seems to care about this film one way or the other. Have fun searching out the indignant articles.

Remember when these women were awesome and no one bitched about diversity. This current horseshite narrative that women were never represented in action and hero movies is infuriating and insulting to these people to name a few:
Princess Leia
Sarah Connor
Ellen Ripley
Dana Barrett
Leeloo
Trinity
Eveyone in Kill Bill
Buffy
Mrs. Kensington
Selene
Most Disney Movies
Xena
Dana Scully
Agent 99
The cast of Charmed
Tomb Raider
Solid list, Bree, but I can't believe you of all people would leave out

Charlize Theron was phenomenal in that. That was perfect ex execution of female heroics without forcing it down our throats.

Well done sir, all time favorite.

Even though it brought in a decent haul week 1, adjusted for inflation, it isn't living up to the Clooney movies.
While they bitch about male reviewers they should be bitching about foreign folks. World Wide receipts are dismal compared to the Clooney movies. This is where they are getting killed. I guess they are blaming male reviewers for the lack of interest world wide but that is nonsense since I haven't seen a bad review yet. Mediocre movie is mediocre.
Even the worst Oceans movie pulled in $200,000,000 outside the us. Oceans 8 has pulled in $37,000,000.

Bridesmaids was a knockoff of the Hangover, but it at least had some originality, and I enjoyed it very much.
That being said, I'm really not interested in what women like to do, or what they think, unless it's really sexy. Sorry for having a dick. I'm not interested in estate sales, or the mall, or wasting money on getting my hair or nails done. Men and women like different things. It's ok.

I keep seeing this, but I don't know. It's not like the Hangover was some uber-original piece of cinema.

especially since you stole from that film
I don't disagree with most of what you said, but let's not pretend Ocean's 11 with Pitt, Clooney, etc was a unique creation.

Seems like Hollywood just wants to make whatever film they desire, and blame others if it doesn't do well.
There was a time when Hollywood actually had to market movies to audience interests.
You know, like how every other company in the world brings products to market...

It was a great movie, and when you make a great movie, people don't bitch and complain about things like, "your just a remake of such and such"
The hangover was national phenomenon. Bridesmaids was hoping to play off its success, but they made a good movie regardless.

I liked the movie - it didn't feel like an Oceans movie to me, but i enjoyed it.

Also, you have these iconic actresses who, along with their agents and publicists, need for it not to be their fault that the movie failed.
I'm still seeing it. I just haven't gotten around to it.

Seems like a shitty movie. That is an excuse?

I didn't see those, and I won't see this one.

But, if that and the shitty Blake Edwards movie are all we're going to get, I guess I'll take it.
