I think TDK and Titanic both sucked too and they all made tons of money.

Making more money than it should but just shows how good the avengers was. People will likely flock to the new Captain America and Thor, both of which will probably suck

When you charge $10 for a ticket, anything is possible man.

This is fricking ridiculous. You've got to be an IM homer or flat out dumbass to like or spread positive word about this film.

I enjoyed it immensely. Hell, I'd watch it again. Obviously a complete adulteration of the Mandarin, but that didn't bother me.

I hated what they did with Mandarin.

Funny that I know a lot of people who saw this who didn't see Avengers.

Ridiculous for a movie that has a plot and story that's not airtight as the ones next to it.

Come on, TDK and TDKR had airtight stories and they made a ton of money.

no not really. charging $10 a ticket doesn't mean anything and doesn't guarantee financial success of any movie.

SundayFunday this isn't necessarily directed at you, but I feel sorry for the people who are too cheap to spend money to watch a movie. that's the mentality of many people in this country and ESPECIALLY in the deep south. "give me, give me, give me everything for cheap" mentality. I always get a kick out of the ones who are like ... "well it cost 10 bucks for a ticket and then 10 bucks for food!" ... as if spending a whole $20 on the occasional night out at the movies is going to kill you.

By walking up to the window, saying "one for IM3, please", and sitting in a comfortable chair for two hours...

'Iron Man 3' races past $1 billion dollar mark on monster foreign take

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Iron Man 3" was soaring past $1 billion at the worldwide box office Thursday, in a display of world domination that would make one of Marvel's super villains proud.

The box-office bounty - roughly $700 million from abroad and $300 million domestically - is a major triumph for Disney, which bet big on comic book superheroes when it bought Marvel Studios for $4 billion in 2009.

DVD material all the way. It's not worth seeing in theaters.

Part 2 is way better on the basis that Tony Stark is actually Iron Man for a significant majority of the film.
