It's so cute when skyscreaming Leftists try to act tough.

Also, in true Hollywood ham-handedness, the "good" characters (Gordon, Catwoman, etc) are POCs.

what about, I don’t know, the “good” character that is the films main character and namesake?

Pattinson is my favorite Batman but least favorite Bruce Wayne.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie.

Agreed. Batman is suooosed to be 6’-4” middle linebacker & the best detective on the planet.

They did nail the detective part pretty well

I had low expectations. And it far exceeded them.

I was surprised to like the movie and Pattinson as much as I did.

He's in the top 3, along with Bale and Keaton. FAR ahead of Clooney, Kilmer, and Ben Affleck.

I liked the way Gotham was portrayed too. Not as cartoony as Burton's, not as sanitized as Nolan's.

Finally watched this movie last night. Surprised me. I loved it. Loved the slow burn. Some great visuals. Did not want it to end.

When does part 2 come out?

October 2025.
I saw something recently about how the script wasn't even finished.

Did a rewatch after watching the Penguin series. I gave it a lot more attention the 2nd time around. Still 40 minutes too long. Wonder which villian they are going to do in the next series...?

I didn't really care for it, but that's partly because I'm just tired of Batman and his Menagerie in general. He was never my favorite DC character, but I enjoyed Burton and Nolan's takes.

And I feel like Nolan's take should have been allowed to stand for a little longer. Affleck was probably the best casting for the Bruce/Batman combo, but he was underused.

This movie -and I guess now franchise -- seemed an unnecessary and poorer version of what we already had.

For me, this movie was completely forgettable and I can quote from all the other iterations we've gotten.

Yep, too long and the third act is clunky. Feels like studio interference. But the first 2 acts are strong. It has some really great scenes that feel ripped out of a comic book.

Because Bruce Wayne is the alter ego. Batman is what the guy is really like in life. Pattinson's character hasn't developed that alter ego yet.

No, that's Superman. Bruce is crazy as frick, but Batman is a costume and a role. He is still Bruce. He has family -- in Alfred -- he spent his childhood as Bruce. People know him as Bruce. The people that love him call him Bruce.

Bill the Snake Charmer said it best.

I thought Dano singing was cringe and the joker cameo was cringe

It had some great visuals and music. Honestly my biggest issue was that it wasn't just a long movie, but it felt like a long movie.

I just watched it again and liked it more the 2nd time. perfect? no, but we got a maniac Riddler that was not a caricature or comic relief. I appreciated the dark aspect of the movie.

I liked Pattinsons Bruce - he is new to Batman and lost as a normal person - but almost losing Alfred got him to realize it was more than just being batman.

Definitely agree here, and agree with the other poster that the movie went downhill once riddler gave himself up.

The first 15 minutes or so is absolutely awesome. I loved the monologue and dark music leading up to the first fight scene at the train station.

He really did. Everyone claiming any other major super hero is actually his real self in costume is just wrong. I freaking love that scene.

Pattinsons Batman is certainly more comfortable as Batman as he is as Bruce, but he'll grow into being better as the playboy Bruce.

Klark Kent is the alter ego for Superman, not the other way around.

Wrong. He's learning how to be Bruce Wayne. His parents died when he was a kid. He never learned how to be live his father. And he's relived the trauma of watching his parents get murdered for probably close to 2 decades by this point.
