I never actually finished this movie, I just got tired of watching it and gave up.

I thought it was rather slow and a bit boring first time I watched it.
After watching the Penguin and just rewatching the Batman I enjoyed it a lot more and looking forward to the next one.

Here's the thing though, as the filmmaker pointed out:
He's not really learning to be Batman. He's learning how to be Bruce Wayne. That's why they went the direction they did.
This is probably one of the reasons I really enjoyed this one. His true personality is as Batman. The mask is Bruce Wayne. He has to learn how to be Bruce the galavanting billionaire.

It felt very much like Mask of the Phantasm at times for me. Obviously, not as childish and with different characters/villains, but the Bruce being lost and him trying to find himself was something I enjoyed about both movies. I enjoyed the aspect of Bruce about to be married and still trying to figure out that side of him. The Batman felt like a before of that type of character.
I thought Pattinson was really good. If he's still completely dark and brooding in 2, then everyone here that is mad about his portrayal can feel vindicated. But I can't imagine we will see that. I believe he will start to be the Bruce we have seen for 80 years.
I am pretty pumped about 2. There's a lot to explore. Hopefully we continue seeing detective Bruce Wayne, that's one of my favorite parts of this one. I do agree that the last 40 minutes or so dragged. I don't mind the concept, but Catwoman and her portrayal is really bad IMO.
Overall, it was an 8/10, probably a 9/10 without Catwoman.
