He’s his boss. Pretty sure he’s always called him Mr Milcheck

Milkshake is clearly just rattled by Drummond and wants mark in to complete cold harbor.

I am usually on top of the details in this show, but I am confused about the birthing lab. Why did they go back there?

Rather obvious that they went there so he would be innie Mark.

One thing I noticed on last night's episode was the symmetry in the framing. The show has typically stayed pretty true to the rule of thirds, and there was plenty of that last night, but there was a lot more symmetry in the shots than normal. Most obvious was the Cobel shot at the end, but a lot of other scenes were symmetrical or center-placed, too.

Possibly just a metaphor for innie and outie and no real meaning past that.

No. Or why he was investigating Lumon to begin with. Or why he was painting the export hallway or how he knows what it is.

Definitely not all tied up unless whoever he was working with on the outside reveals themselves to mark once Irv is now “missing” or something like that.

ETA: Burt turning out to be an enforcer/driver is actually a little disappointing tbh.

So is the implication that Helly sent Burt to "see to" Irving? But Burt instead of delivering him to his death, helped him get away?

What did Jame Eagan mean when he told Helly she tricked him? Is it just a call back to when they were together at the Lumon party in S1 but he couldn't tell it was Helly?

Also, the scenes with Dylan were heartbreaking last night. Severance has ruined his lives. Neither his outtie or innie can afford to leave Lumon despite the company being responsible for most of his struggles.

And the contrast between Huang and Milchick on his exit from the severed floor was staggering. I'm interested to see what happens with them next week.

Another great episode… some answers/confirmations but more questions.

Confirmed Gemma will die once CH is done
Confirmed Burt/Fields are on the inside

What’s with Jame saying to Helly she fooled him?
What’s the 7th floor thing to get into birthing cabin?
Who was Burt talking to? He can’t be done.

Milkshake is gonna wreck shop in the end

Next week we SHOULD get a lot of answers/information from conversations between Helly/Jame and Mark/Cobel

I desperately want more on Lumon/Eagan and what the endgame is. If this show only goes one more season than we're running out of time to answer most of the relevant questions.

Hope that Milchick turns on Lumon.

That's not what Cobel said.
She said she's already dead, whatever that means.

I think at the beginning of the episode that was innie Helly eating the egg with Jame.

Pretty sure that's how severed people get to their innie self

The last time they spoke was last season when the innies initiated the Overtime Contingency. I took it as a reference to that conversation since she was Helly R at the time pretending to be Helena.

Cobel said in reference to CH, "If you've completed that file, then she's already dead."

How else would you interpret that, excpet that Gemma will die when that file is complete?

I'd have to go back and watch, but it looked like Devon had something shoved under her shirt, to make her look pregnant. I thought Cobel mentioned it was one of Jame's, and she wasn't on the list because they wanted to keep it quite. As if that happens a lot. Could be wrong though.

“Devour feculence”

I’ll have to remember that one

Jame gets innies pregnant and then the outies have to go to the birthing cabins to have the babies as their innies?

Something like that I’m guessing. “Might get pregnant” would be a hell of a red flag in the paperwork to become an innie though

I didn’t get the impression he was impregnating severed employees. If I had to guess, he has several side pieces in the cult of Lumon and severs them to aid with labor.

It was 9th floor. It’s a reference to the Twilight Zone episode The After Hours. The episode is about a woman who goes into a department store and discovers she’s actually a mannequin (innie) who was allowed to leave and live as a normal person (outie) for one month. She returns to the 9th floor to resume her life as a mannequin or innie.

I thought this episode was great and don't get the downvotes on people who say that. Folks were complaining about the show's pace, and Ep9 was jam-packed with developments and moved several arcs forward.

Here were my immediate thoughts after the episode; I do not vouch for their insight or correctness. I also haven't read a single thing yet about this episode.

1. Jame is a breeder.

2. Did Helena tip off Burt? Some have suggested it was Helly, not Helena, but how would Helly have all the information necessary to impersonate Helena at their family home, contact Burt, etc.

I think Helena tipped off Burt, and Jame's statement to Helly in MDR is because he doesn't know she started severing again after the gala. Remember that Drummond and Natalie did not tell Jame what happened at ORTBO, that she slept with Mark and that Irv forced her innie.

Also, Helly sounds like a regular nickname for Helena, so it would not surprise me that her dad calls her that.

3. Why did Milchick treat Eustace (???) Huang so harshly? Is she an Eagan prodigy like Cobel?

4. Did anyone hear Jame moan (as if experiencing sexual pleasure) when Helena started to cut her egg? And that when she asked if he would join her, he said "I'll watch" as if he were a voyeur?

5. I agree with what someone else said in this thread that Dylan did not leave the building. The scene cut to the testing floor elevator and hallway right after he got into the main elevator. And it took a while for that elevator to arrive; why would they have delayed his departure like that?

6 . I still don't know how the severance tech works. Is it geo-located like GPS? Is it a physical barrier? A combination? How did Devon know the cabin would work on Mark?

7. I thought reintegration mitigated or eliminated the innie/outie distinction, but Mark was full innie after entering the cabin. If he climbed out a window, would he still be his innie?

8. Yes, the Dylan arc is heartbreaking. So sad that his innie thought his outie would be happy for his innie to get some.

9. You could see the flip switch with Milchick. And he was absolutely, positively, 100% right that he's only responsible for what happens on the floor. fricking fantastic scene.

10. Has anyone gone back to see what the Artetas' kids look like? I wonder if they are Jame's children.

11. Did Mark ever go into the birthing cabin when Devon had her baby? The midwife opened the door to leave and they talked outside, but I don't remember him going in.

Not all the cabins are severance cabins.
