As someone who has found this season to be good but a step down from season 1 this was a huge huge step up.
Maybe the best episode of the series
Maybe the best episode of the series

Agree...
I want to go back and watch, but I feel kind of exhausted after. It was so fricking good and on edge, that I'm tired

quote:I was wondering from the start if Kier is a company town, and it has many of the hallmarks. On the other hand, there's the Whole Mind Collective, the news show earlier this year that had on a vocal Lumon critic, and the underground punk scene actively defying Lumon.
- the dawning realization that all of Kier is Lumon and wondering how Mark and Gemma wound up there in the first place
Gemma's "death" suggests Lumon has some high level of influence over the police, and the company has infiltrated every aspect of local life. I wonder if we'll ever get to see the legal, geographical, and philosophical limits of Kier.
And with whom is Irv speaking on the pay phone far away from his townhouse?

some scenes she looks astonishingly beautiful
This x 1000. Gorgeous.
And, that was an amazing performance by her - like Emmy-nomination worthy

this show took a turn for the worst with this last episode. i don't care that much for mark's and gemma's relationship and them getting back together. feels like the rest of the story is going to be centered around that main storyline which is lame to me. milchick, helly, the board, and Lumen are way more interesting to me.

I hate to break it to you, but that is the main plot line of the show. The workings of Lumon is just facilitating their story.

If that episode didn’t blow you away you should immediately stop watching. We got a deep look into wtf lumon is actually doing while at the same time getting the first real look into Gemma/mark. It was a crazy good episode of tv and how they navigated back and forth was insane

Notice how they make Mark and Gemma look worse. Really bad haircuts , they look less healthy too

Not liking this episode would be like being an LSU football fan but not liking the 2019 season

Lumen’s ultimate goal is to have the Severance procedure help the outie to avoid any and all pain throughout their lives including death.
I agree with you for the most part but I think there is a Lumon angle at play when it comes to what is the ultimate goal. We have been beaten over the head with their weirdness and the 4 pillars or whatever, I think there will be more to it than just them removing suffering from peoples lives

She’s going to drown. They even asked her if she’d rather suffocate or drown

Good catch. Nurse asking that question was to see her bigger fear. They will drown her in cold harbor.

A theory I read. Intriguing. I’m 40/60 on it.
Does Devon work for Lumon?
-She quickly wanted to call Harmony Cobel, but phone contact was “Ms Selvin.” Why would she trust Cobel to help Mark so quickly after finding out that Gemma was alive from witch doctor?
-Has a droid, not iPhone. iPhone villain thing. May not mean much though.
-“Where did you go?” to Mark when he awakes. Same was asked to Gemma by nurse. Maybe just showing parallels of both characters’ journeys?

It felt more like I was watching a damned romance themed show instead of sci fi. A drastic departure from season 1.
Fair play if you enjoyed it but it’s not for me anymore

The goat ranch was the most bizarre scene of the season.
Has confirm a lot of what we see is some sort of nuralink /' holodeck / VR type deal being piped in through the chip in their heads.
The goat ranch was Sesame Street bit of three kids in a square jumping rope and one kid riding a bike.

Does Ben stiller go to the gates of hell to cast Lumon’s employees? That doctor is so fricking creepy

Lumon may be some kind of purgatory.
Mid-way between heaven and hell, or perhaps just hell.
We might be watching a warning about what happens when humans play God.
Cloning. Transferring consciousness. Creating alien viruses not natural to this earth. Altering consciousness. Using AI / VR to shape reality.
An allegory about the consequences of humans playing God.
