Its entertaining. I very sparsely watched the original. Even without the built in character love its a good show.

It’s pretty soulless and I’m sure it’s because Lawrence is with Apple now and has nothing to do with this show anymore

As one who has the soundtrack of the original show in my playlist, I have zero interest in this show.
But good on them for another season. Love that cast.

Same. Scrubs was one of my favorite shows of all time. Dr. Cox in particularly is one of my favorite characters of all time. I had very low expectations for this reboot.
Mostly because a lot of reboots like this never work, they're just shadows of what they used to be. I was also worried that the humor of early 2000s Scrubs would be too 'offensive' for a show today.
But I feel like they have nailed the landing so far. All the characters and scenery, old and new, largely feel on brand. I actually love how they get around making some of the old school 'offensive' jokes by having someone from HR or therapy just come in and say 'that's offensive,' and that's it.
My only nitpick is that JD and Elliott got divorced. The original Scrubs ending (i.e., not that weird medical school spin-off) is one of my favorite show endings of all time. And I hate how reboots or sequels have this habit of being like "remember that great ending from years ago? Yeah, it didn't work out."
Again, since they decided to have them divorce I actually think they handled their new dynamic well. For me, it just kind of screws up the series finale the original run hand.

Best news I heard all day.
Sources at Deadline saying they ordered 10 episodes for the next season. I will be pissed if that is the case. 10 isn't enough for a 22 minute comedy.

Abbott Elementary which plays after scrubs is on season 5 and has had 3 seasons at 22 episodes. One season was lower because of the writer strikes.

Tried multiple times to watch it after the Always Sunny crossover, and being recommended it on streaming. It is the most paint-by-numbers fluff I have ever seen.
Every punchline is exactly what you know it is going to be.
Anyone in this thread could write an episode of Abbott and it would be as good as anything they put on the air

no doubt. Scrubs ratings and viewership are much higher than abbott also. So if scrubs gets screwed with another 10 episode season drop something in the business model part is off.
They need a full season to bring back Kelso, Dan, Sean, Snoop Dog Resident, Doug, Dr Beard Face, Llyod, Worthless Peons, etc.
